[May 2012]He was dizzy and disoriented as he free-fell through the air over the city, barely registering the buildings below and around him looking far smaller and less complex in architecture than any human cities to his knowledge.
Just as Drake was about to ask Zeta for insight with the UNSC database, he took notice that his suit's AI port was empty, and he remembered that the program had been transferred to the structure console, and had likely been picked back up by Rachael when she went into the portal.
As he took this information in stride to re-focus on more immediate matters, he became aware of the other being who was falling at the same time as he was, specifically an alien being in black and red armor.
Jega Rdomnai. That was who tackled him into the portal, and was now only feet away.
Scrambling for his sidearm, Drake drew and took aim in mere seconds, firing off a couple shots, neither one seemed to have any definitive effect. The Sangheili assassin countered this with a wild swing of his reignited energy blade, but without solid ground to provide him proper footing, it merely made red sparks as it scraped the armor plating of the Spartan's suit.
Before any further attempt could be made to further their skydive scrap, the pair slammed down hard onto something as it fluidly floated through the open gaps between skyscrapers, its motion almost like it was swimming. Somersaulting backwards a couple times, Drake steadied himself, coming to discover they were standing on some kind of massive organism, seeing a reflection of the beasts hideous face in a tall building's reflective side, as it roared loudly.
As they reoriented themselves, the Spartan and Elite spotted one another and resumed their brawl atop the leviathan, Jega with his plasma blades, Drake with the one he took from a fallen Elite on the other side of the portal.
While he fought through his disorienting state to fend off Rdomnai, out of the corner of his eye, the Spartan noticed other prominent figures moving all around the flying monster, most of them being humanoid creatures that bore a similar armor design scheme to the beast he was standing on, but more noticeably, were the more colorful-clad individuals who were more clearly human, fighting the endless swarms of aliens off with each of their own particular style, sometimes hitting them with some type of group attack or something else to that effect.
A figure in black and gold robotic armor flew up past the edge of the leviathan's armor plating, before arcing around to pepper the front of it with repulsor fire from their hands.
