[Shortly after...]

They returned to collect Loki, restrained and gagged in metallic bindings Thor had left on him before they'd last exited, keeping him from escaping.

Bringing the restrained trickster god forward, the Avengers and their new unexpected recruit regrouped with a unit of soldiers of some kind. Noticing his unfamiliarity with who the agents were, the two Captains explained to him, identifying the organization that came to them as SHIELD.

While they linked back up with the organization's agents, Captains Danvers and Carter debriefing on what all went down, Drake could feel some of the random soldiers and agents' eyes on him, though not in the manner he was used to from the Marines in his time. This was... caution, apprehension and wariness at just his mere presence.

It was settled that the small army of SHIELD personnel would handle search and rescue, starting off the rebuilding effort in the wake of the battle. Thor had negotiated to take both his brother and the power source that projected the portal, being a glowing blue cube they referred to as the Teserract, back to his homeworld, which he did, raising his axe and summoning a multicolored portal which vanished them off Earth.

Looking up in awe and amazement at seeing that spectacle, Spartan looked back down to see Peggy approaching him. She too looked... slightly on edge about something. "I've been ordered to bring you to our commanding officer, the director of SHIELD. He'd like to ask you some questions.", she explained. Nodding calmly, he stepped forward, signaling her to lead the way.

As she led the way to one of their quinjets that had landed nearby, he noticed the small handful of soldiers in combat gear keeping a loose formation around him, as if to be ready for him to attack. Raising an eyebrow beneath his helmet, he mentally shrugged as he conceded that it made sense why.

That said, he of course knew any attempt they would've made would be both unnecessary and futile, as he meant them no harm, and could handily take on twice as many men as this if needed. The thought made him smile under his helmet in competitive pride, just shy of arrogance, before he regained his composure and boarded the aircraft with the Captain and her subordinates.

Following their lead, he sat in one of the seats bolted to the side of the plane's wall, hearing it creak as it strained under his weight. This drew a subtle reaction from everyone else in the back of the aircraft with him. As the drop-down seat didn't snap off under his weight, he decided to ignore the little hiccup and move on, looking once more to the shield-wielding brunette.

"You move really well, very fast and effective in combat out there, and with practically only hand-to-hand, no less.", he calmly praised, getting a momentary look of surprise, before a smile and nod. "Thank you, and you as well, though it's more impressive how quick you are with armor like that...", she responded, obviously jabbing at how bulky the Spartan's armor looked.

"In any case, your movements aren't that of an average soldier, so it's either you've got something resembling Stark's toys, or...", Peggy continued on, looking him up and down, before trailing off, at which point he nodded, silently confirming something she didn't say.

"Super-soldier, that's it exactly. I assume you as well, given it's the one of the two first guesses you thought to make about me as well, it tracks that you'd probably make guesses about something unfamiliar, based on something familiar instead.", he explained calmly, eliciting another subtly impressed look from Peggy's distinct face. "Not bad...", she quietly praised.

He took notice of everyone else in the cabin of the jet giving him the side-eye, clearly all still wary of his presence here for some admittedly understandable reasons. He kept his physical presence subtle, making it seem as if he'd noticed none of it, quiet and still for the remainder of the flight from the city, heading up to the massive airborne aircraft carrier...
