Loud echoes of laughter and excited shouting fill the courthouse as the small wedding party make their way down the stairwell. Shelby's heart raced as her fingers were laced with Jake's, their grips squeezing back and forth together. Within the young woman's other hand was their signed marriage license that had been neatly placed in an official documented cover Miss Glynda gifted them. The older woman claimed important documents, like diploma's and marriage licenses, needed an official cover since it was an achievement. Shelby clutched the white leather certificate holder to her chest as her and Jake made their way down the stairwell.

Marissa shushed her husband, smiling as she shook her head. "Robbie! Must you be so loud? People are trying to have court right now!"

Cassidy jumped into Marquise's arms, kissing him as she giggled. "Oh Marissa, who cares? Two people just got hitched! It's time to celebrate!"

"Well, I'm going to leave you kids to your fun." Miss Glynda grabbed Shelby's bicep, pulling her from Jake's grasp as she took a few steps away. She beamed down at the bride happily, gently putting her aged hands to her cheeks. "Your mother would have been so proud of you. You were a beautiful bride, Shelby. Truly. You must come over and visit me often now, Young Lady! We are neighbors now, afterall."

"Of course, Miss Glynda." Shelby nodded, smiling. "Thank you so much for showing up. It meant so much to have you here–and thank you, for having a photographer come and take pictures. I know it will mean the world to Mom to be able to see it."

The older woman fixed Shelby's bangs, nodding with a smile. "I know she would have wanted to be here to see it...somethings are just not fair. But, then again, Darlin', you managed to get yourself quite a man." The older woman leaned in, whispering loudly. "If you ever need tips on how to satisfy a man, you come by and just ask me. Believe me, if I was in your shoes, I'd know exactly what I'd do."

Shelby blushed and smiled at the woman's words, arching a brow. "Miss Glynda! That's very naughty..."

"I'm old, I'm allowed to be naughty. Most men find this cute nowadays." Miss Glynda chuckled, swatting her hand before hugging the bride tightly. "But please, Darlin', don't be a stranger."

"I won't." Shelby smiled happily, holding her breath so the woman's perfume won't choke her.

Miss Glynda released Shelby, turning to see Jake had approached them. The old woman placed her hands on her hips, smiling wickedly at him.

"Well, isn't it Mr. Handsome and Strong himself?" She motioned for him to hug her.

"Thank you for coming, Miss Glynda." Jake hugged the older woman, giving Shelby a wink. "Shelby and I were grateful to have you as our witness here today."

Shelby grinned as Miss Glynda held onto him for too long, palming her face with her hand. Most women would probably be offended by any other woman flirting with their husband, especially on their wedding day, but Shelby found it humorous. Miss Glynda was a harmless old woman who was looking for some fun.
