i was still dancing with jack, trying to fight the urge of following mason out to see what his problem was. jack smiles at me, "you know, i've liked you since i've met you y/n, thank you for dancing with me tonight" he was mumbling and i could tell he was really drunk. i smile back, "of course jack, i'm just going to go get another drink" i lift his arm from around my waist and started pretending to walk to the bar, when i was actually following the direction that mason went. it seemed that he had left the house fully, i walk toward the main door and see him sat on the steps that led up to it.

"what was that in there?" i say, trying to keep my balance. mason doesn't even turn around to look at me. my heels click toward him as i stand at the bottom of the stairs and look up at him. "you gonna ignore me then?" i say, chuckling. he looks up at me finally, but seemed alarmed. i heard the sound of approaching footsteps behind me. "huh?" i feel a cold, metal on the bottom of my back. me and mason were the only people out here. or so i thought. mason slowly stands up and mouths to me to not move, not even an inch. a cold glove was placed on the right side of my waist. "come with me, both of you." an unfamiliar voice said from behind me, i could feel his breaths behind my neck. "man what do you want?" mason tries to stay as confident as he could, but i could hear hints of fear in this voice. "i said move."

the man guided me to his car and mason followed, with both hands up. he opens the car door for me and i jump in, and so does mason behind me, together in the back. the man slams the door and hurrily jumps into the front seat and starts the car engine straight away. fear rushes through my body, what was going to happen? is this the night that me and mason die?
i could feel masons gaze on me, but i couldn't move. the shock and horror was too much for my body to control. i feel his hand place on my thigh, which catches my attention. my body soon allows me to look back at him, i could see the fear in his eyes, yet he stays strong. "we'll be okay" he whispers to me, as quietly as he could, i try to smile but i was unable to. i place my hand on top of his, not daring to talk back. disliking mason was currently the least of my worries. my brain couldn't think. i was numb to everything.

the man driving was wearing an all black tracksuit and a mask that slightly covered his face, but not fully. his hair was blonde, almost gingery. i could tell that mason had no idea who this person was, and nor did i.
after a while of complete silence, except from the fast speeds of the car we were in, i remembered that my dress had a pocket. in there, was my phone. how could i be so stupid as to forget?
adrenaline rushes through my body, i check the mirror to see what the man was doing before i tapped mason. he looked down at me, and i pointed to the phone that could be seen hanging out of my pocket. his face lights up, he takes a look at the driver before he quickly grabs it from me. i enter the passcode and go straight to the groupchat i had with reece and declan, even though the phone was still in masons hands. clicking on the groupchat contact, i share my phones live location with them and message, making sure my phone was on silent before i had said anything.

"please help, come as fast as you can"

after this, mason slides the phone back into my pocket and rests his hand back on my thigh, rubbing his thumb forward and backward to try and calm down my anxiety. knowing that reece and dec now had my location made me feel safe, i knew they would help us.
