The boat rocked back and fourth as I clung onto the wooden frame with my small hands. Burly men carrying whips surrounded me and some other children around my age. "Everyone line up!"
I slowly stood up, my legs wanting to buckle underneath me from sitting on the floor for so long. Chains clattered on my wrists as I moved towards a small dark room.
"Get in you little brat!" Someone shouted at a dirty-blonde child. He shoved her into the room, just before the door was about to shut. this was only my second day in the boat, but I already wanted to jump off the ship and let myself drown.
A burning smell came from the room the girl was put in, and then smoke started emitting from the door. A high-pitched shriek came from the room and the little girl came out with a blurred back design on her left arm, along with a lot of red skin around it from swelling.
I started to get very scared, in which I started to fidget. "You!" a man came stomping over to me, grabbing my arms. "I would suggest you stay still and keep your mouth shut if you would like to make it though this damn line without any extra scars you'll be gaining." He growled at me.
I watched him as he threatened other children by cracking his whip near their feet.

The line was nearly up to me now, in which whatever they were doing to those kids, would happen to me in two extra people.
"Next!" A man screamed out, shoving me inside. The room was dank with a small overhead light. A woman with a green cloak over her shoulders sat on a stool with a metal stick in her hand, with the same design on it. "Give me your arm, now." She demanded. I slowly raised my arm, letting her take it and yank up the grey long-sleeve shirt. She chuckled. She grinned, pinning my arm down as she heated the metal stick up.
"Now, don't scream...little girl."
