My lips were on fire and I felt so...weird. This wasn't one of the forced kisses from that rapist, it was a passionate meaningful one.
He pulled away, waiting for my reaction. "I.." He started. I could feel myself blushing. This was all going so quickly, it was escalating into something amazing.
"Say no more, boy." I smiled, returning the favor. I could see his face becoming very red with excitement.
"I like you too, Corbin." He watched me for a moment, smiling. He took one hand, letting me support Ember with the other. "Say," He started again, becoming more calm. "Would you...perhaps..." He started studdering on his words again. I waited patiently for him, feeling a bit sorry for him, yet trying to hold back the giggles, until he was finally able to make out his sentence.
"...Would like to maybe...get together?" I could tell what he meant. He wanted a relationship. Then I noticed something.
That so called 'love' I had for that boy Caleb, was nothing other than a middle school crush. This seemed different. I had gotten to know Corbin for a while now, feeling passion for him. We had similar interests, and seemed to understand each-other.
"You know what?" I say up in my bed. "I'm up for it." I gave him a heartwarming smile, letting him react. "R-really?" He was acting so childish, but that was just one of the qualities of Corbin that came along with him, that I respected completely.
"Yes, I mean it." I hugged him carefully, making sure not to squish Ember.

Corbin left with a smile on his face about an hour ago, leaving me here with Ember. I kept drifting in and out of sleep, looking back down at her, making sure she was okay. We had both gotten a decent amount of sleep since then. A faint knock could be heard at the door. "Come in." I mumbled groggily.
Gail stepped in with a bouquet of flowers.
I gasped. "Gail, where did you get these?!" I asked, surprised. "The snow is starting to melt, so I went down to a valley, plucked a few new bloomers, and brought them back here to you." She smiled at me.
She had such a kinder heart.
"So, what happened with you and Corbin?" She asked. I raised my eyebrows.
"Weeellll...He asked me if I wanted to be in a relationship, and..." Gail was interested, listening in. "Yeah, and?" She raised her eyebrows.
"Wellll...I said yes!" She squealed, hugging me. "Oh, Emerson, I'm so exited for what the future might hold!" I laughed, swaddling Ember who was still sleeping.
"Oh, I asked the receptionist lady to discharge you from the hospital, so you'll be able to go back home with us in about an hour!" She smiled. "Oh, Gail! You're the best." I laughed, patting her arm.
I then looked down at the stomach, poking it. "I'm fairly happy, because I only gained a slight bit of weight, considering how much a lot of people gain from this." Gail nodded. "Yes, you've never been the type to gain weight..." She trailed off, seeming to be in thought.
We were both caught in an awkward silence that we had never had before. We had always had something to talk about. It was really strange. Gail had a glassy look over her eyes as she stared at the wall. "Gail." She snapped out of a phase that she seemed to be in, letting the glassy look leave her face.
"Are you okay?" I asked with concern. "Hm? What?" Yes, I'm fine." She got up, gathering her things. "I will meet you at the entrance, Emerson." She smiled, walking out.
Well, that certainly was weird. I thought with a bit of concern. Waves of thoughts flooded my mind. Could she be developing amnesia? Will she be okay? Will she die? Will she know who I am? Will she be alright and able to function? Can she care for herself anymore?
I was starting to scare myself with reoccurring thoughts.
I changed out of my hospital gown, getting into some normal clothing. I grabbed my things, holding Ember as I walked outside to the patio.
I spotted Corbin sitting down in the slow, tracing something into the ground. I could feel myself blush slightly as I walked over to Gail.
"Ready to go?" I asked hopefully. "Yep, we're both ready when you are, dearie." I nodded, going to go tap Corbin on the shoulder.
"Corbin, we're going home."
