Hello, all you lovely people! I'm sorry it has been so long but life took hold of me and I got too busy. But I'm back now enjoy!
After the speeches, it was time to cut the cake! Us vamps couldn't enjoy the absolutely gorgeous cake Esme and I made but the humans sure could!
Edward, I could tell seriously considered putting some frosting on Bella's face like most couples do but I think the executive decision to stay alive to see his honeymoon outweighed facing the wrath of Alice Cullen.
Afterwards, it was time to dance! I mainly danced with my brothers and sisters and mingled with some guests till it was time for a big part. It was the father-daughter dance. I was really excited about this I've been helping Bella and Charlie practice. Since I was a formally clumsy human who learned to dance they decided I was best to teach those two how to dance together. Hardest thing of my entire life and I'm a doctor!
One thing we did do differently as a way to ease off the pressure is that about halfway through the dance any father-daughter duos will be allowed to join in the dance. A touching moment for everyone and will help Bella and Charlie be slightly less awkward.
The absolutely beautiful song that was chosen was The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. When the song was about to start Alice and I got them on the dance floor and they started dancing. They were doing amazing and besides a couple miss steps here and there they were perfect. It was so beautiful to see the father-daughter love these two had and it was kinda sad to see the look on Charlie's face as he held Bella in his arms as they danced to the music. Made all of us Cullens realize how horrible we'll feel when we have to take Bella away from him.
When the halfway point of the song came it was announced all other father-daughter duos could join and people rushed to the floor. I was standing in the back by Bree when we saw Carlisle rise from his spot next to Esme.
It was clear what his intentions were but my question is would he choose Alice or Rose to dance with? As he walked closer to the girls it was obvious he was leaning more toward Rose but then.... he walked right past them?
Carlisle walked over to Bree and me stopping in front of me. He held out his hand in front of me waiting for me to grab it.
"May I have this dance, Alex?" He asked looking at me for an answer.
I was shocked. I've never danced a father-daughter dance with Carlisle there were never any father-daughter dances to go to and the only time he even danced with Alice and Rose was when one of them had another wedding. All the dances were done beautifully but I've never danced with Carlisle. What if I mess up? What if I fall on my ass and I embarrass Carlisle? I mean I never even danced with my own father when the bastard was still alive.
"Of course she will," Bree said before I could continue my thought process she grabbed my hand and placed it gently in Carlisle's. Carlisle looked worried that Bree had to be the one who placed my hand in his instead of on my own free will so I said the very thing I knew would clear the worry.
"I would love to have this dance, Carlisle." He smiled, happy I wanted to dance with him.
Carlisle took me out onto the dance floor and once we got into position we started to waltz. Carlisle was flawless doing the steps perfectly; while I kept stumbling and looking down at my feet.
After about my fifth time of stepping on his toes, Carlisle spoke up.
"Alexis." Damnit I knew it I'm screwing this up so bad he doesn't want to continue. I'm probably embarrassing him so badly right now. This was a very bad idea. I slowly raised my head to look at Carlisle mentally preparing for the disappointment and embarrassment in his eyes... but there wasn't any? He was smiling and looked like he was trying to hold in a laugh.
