“Why… Why can’t I do it?” I tried summoning again, just like I did any other day right after school. And, just like always, I had no luck. “Damn… Mom used to be so great at this… Wish she could have given me some pointers…” I was only successful once… Well, sort of… I tried summoning a creature, like a baby dragon, or a faerie… But all I got… Was an apple. I didn’t even know food fell under the summoning category… I guess anything could be summoned, if the proper energy is used.
I headed down stairs and sat at a mini table as I flipped on the TV. I was home alone. I always was. Mom died when I was seven, and my father was never in the picture. I guess she never told him that she was pregnant, and they drifted apart.
My grandmother is the remainder of family I have left, and she moved to France when I turned eight.
I manage pretty well though. I cook for only myself, clean up after only myself, I don’t have to wait to use the shower or bathroom, and I have all the freedom in the world. Although I could do anything I wanted, I can’t help but feel lonely sometimes… And the dead silence that loomed over this temple nonstop wasn’t helping.
After eating dinner, I bathed. I did some laundry, Then, heading up stairs, I plopped onto my bed, exhausted. I soon sat up, and started packing. Packing for a month of training in the mountains was the only thing I could think of to hopefully get my powers working. My mother left me with no instructions of how to do any of this, so I was just gonna have to wing it.
I packed a few weapons like ninja stars, Kunai, Senbon, wires, spell books, and about three outfits including my pink and white school uniform, And a few treats to munch on along the way. I was planning to leave in the morning. Right before I fell completely unconscious, I thought I heard something coming from the closet, but shrugged it off as nothing, and just went to sleep.
I woke up to a weird scratching noise coming from my closet. Like the night before, but this time it was louder. As soon as I acknowledged it, it seemed to stop. So I got ready for school, but then at the last minute decided not to go. Then I heard that noise again. I stood up and stepped slowly toward my closet. I placed my hand on the handle slowly, then yanked it open in one swift motion, to find this huge black gaping hole in the floor… It looked like a black hole… Dark and endless. “What the hell?” Just then, a huge creepy looking arm grabbed me, dragging me inside of this strange abyss. I struggled, and made a huge mess in my room, but it really didn’t make a difference.
I passed out sometime, then woke up to what seemed like an old, creepy castle. When I opened my eyes, I saw a man’s face hovering over me. (Insert Naraku pic) It didn’t take me long to realize he had my head propped up in his lap. I sat up quickly.
“I see your awake-” SMACK! His whole face turned to the side. “What do you think you’re doing?! And what on earth is going on here…? Where the heck am I?!” He stood up, obviously angered. “Watch it wench.” “Wench? Now that’s a little out-dated… Don’t cha think? Whatever. What do you want? And why am I here? I want answers pretty boy!” “Hmph. She’s got spunk.” I turned to see a gorgeous woman, a little taller than me, with black hair tied up in a smallish bun, dressed in an old styled kimono, with a little girl and young boy by her side. The girl had silver haired and carried a mirror, while the young boy held a strange weapon, and stood there lifelessly. Like a puppet.
“Kagura. Kanna. How did you fair?” This guy was cute… Maybe a little sexy… Or a lot… But there was something about him that I really didn’t like.
“Naraku. Inuyasha and his friends are heading this way. We couldn’t stop them. They’ve gotten much stronger. Even with Kohaku there, we were still no match.” “We’ll just have to destroy all of them all at once, so Prepare for-” “Hey! Hello! Could someone PLEASE tell me what’s goin on here?!-” SLAP!
“That’s enough from you. Now you’ll shut up and-” PUNCH! “Put your hands on me again, and I’ll destroy you from the inside out. Got it? Don’t fuck with me.” Where my fist hit his cheek, there was a small indent… Like it was melting from contact…. As if my energy alone is toxic to this guy. “Don’t push your luck. Stay in this room until we return. There are demons that will rip you to shreds if you even think of leaving.” He turned, and the four of them left. “Hmph, as if that scared me.” After a few moments, I heard commotion outside. I opened the door, to find a maze of a castle before me. Only a few demons were there, sure they were creepy lookin, but with my double swords, it was easy to take them out. Idiots here underestimate me… Wherever ‘here’ was. I grabbed my bag and ran up the stairs, to the very top, so I could overlook the situation. When I finally made it, I saw the guy, Naraku, transformed, and his minions were fighting off their visitors.
They were all dressed strangely… Accept for one of the girls on the opposing team… She had a green school uniform that looked like it was from the school that was really close to my house. Everyone else was dressed up in strange attire… Like it was a reenactment of what was thought to have been worn around hundreds of years ago… There was a monk dressed in purple and black with a staff, which wasn’t THAT abnormal… A boy in a strange red Kimono holding an abnormally sized sword… And a woman dressed similar to a ninja. With a huge cat with two tails, and a giant boomerang.
The school girl, who seemed around my age, was about to be attacked, until I threw my large ninja star without thinking, and jumped off the top of the building. I landed on Naraku, then ran down his back side, dodging every arm and tentacle out to get me.
“Whose that?” I heard the school girl ask as my ninja star returned to me. “You wench, I told you to stay in the room-” I threw my star once again, but this time at his head, lopping off his head. “Like I said before.” I grabbed my star again and continued. “Don’t fuck with me.”
It was really quiet, until I turned to this Naraku’s intruders. “Can one of you please tell me where I am? That idiot wouldn’t tell me anything. You see, I’m in a very troubled situation… And why are almost all of you dressed up so strangely? Is this some kind of convention or something?” I heard a strange noise, then turned to see Naraku’s head reforming. “You’ll pay for that.” He growled. “Bring it on. I’ll beat the answers out of you if I have to-” “Hey! Back off! You have no clue what your dealing with!” I heard one of them yell. I turned to get a better look at who I was hearing, when the other woman on their team, from the other side of me yelled “Look out!” I turned back to see Naraku’s limbs reaching for me. I screamed, and covered myself with my arms, only to hear an explosion. I opened my eyes to see bits and pieces of him surrounding me. “Damn you!” Naraku yelled. The school girl ran up to me without wasting any time. “Are you alright?” She asked, with something in her arms, but I didn’t really pay attention. “I’m fine thanks. Now can you please tell me what the HELL IS GOING ON?!” I let my guard down too long, and we were both flung back and hit our heads on the ground beneath us, knocking us into the world of unconsciousness.
“WIND SCAR!” Was the last thing that I heard, before everything went black.
