His car was moving at full speed in the darkness. His jaw clenched slightly, redness was engulfying his dark orbs, indicating that he was intoxicated. His breath was rapid, his heart was numb. His mind was chaos.

He abruptly stomped his foot on the break, halting his car at an empty road surrounded by wood. He breathed heavily. After a minute, he frowned and looked around the darkness.

An eerie silence was swollowing the dark empty highway where his car was stopped in the middle of the road, at that late hour of night away from the city crowd. He sighed, slowly leaning his head back on the seat. His eyelids slowly started shutting when the memories flooded back just like every other night.

The little girl, about seven years old, was happily playing in the park when she heard some noises coming from behind a large tree. Curiosity sparkled within her, causing her to frown and get up from the ground to follow the direction.

"Where are you going?" She looked back hearing that voice, and her eyes met with the dark brown orbs of her twelve-year-old friend.

"Someone is crying over there," She pointed her little figer towards the swing hanging from the tree branch.

The boy approached her, gently taking hold of her soft, tiny hand, his taller figure towering over her fragile figure.

"Don't go there. They are fighting." He told her a bit coldly.

Her little doe eyes widened hearing him as she shifted her attention towards the swing. She saw two boys, as tall as her friend teasing and bullying a boy who seemed younger than them.

"Kook, we should help him." She declared, gazing at them with deepened frown.

"No, that's not our concern." He responded, pulling her with him.
"This is their daily routine." He tried to dissuade her and started walking back, but she grabbed his shirt's hem in her other fist, tugging at it.

"If you don't come, I'll go and help him." She said with a frown a bit angry. He sighed gently at her words.

"How?" He raised a brow.

She pushed her lips forward in an adorable pout hearing him and looked at her side. Her doe eyes fell on his basket ball, and her eyes glimmered instantly. She pulled her hand from his hold and sprinted towards the ball, her tiny feet carrying her swiftly.

He watched her silently with a boredom face, still rooted to his spot. A soft smile spread on his lips, watching her holding his big basketball in her arms. But his smile instantly vanished, and his eyes widened when instead of coming back towards him, she ran towards that tree's direction. He hurriedly followed her but stumbled on his feet, falling to the ground with a hiss of pain.

She reached the boys and threw the ball at one of their heads, gaining the attention of both boys. She glared at him angrily, who frowned at the little figure in front of them.

"Leave him.. He's crying," She spoke in a demanding tone. They both exchanged amused glances before looking back at her and then smirked slightly.
