The kitchen buzzed with soft clinks and the faint smell of spices. Y/n was sitting on the high stool, her legs lazily swaying back and forth, watching as Yuna and Ava moved around the large kitchen, preparing lunch.
Sunlight poured through the large windows in the space as the faint aroma of jjigae and kimchi filled the air, which was enough to make her stomach grumble.

It was noon, and she was extremely bored as Taehyung had left just an hour ago for his office. He said he would be back before evening, but here, she was already missing him.

Yuna, who was stirring a pot of steaming broth, glanced at Y/n from the stove, noticing the faint tiredness on her pouting face.

"You've been looking a little worn out lately, Y/n. Are you feeling okay?"

Y/n looked up at Yuna, hearing her question, which made her breath out softly and tiredly, resting her chin in her hand as she leaned over the counter.

"Yeah, just my sleeping schedule it messed up these days." she said, pouting lazily.

"Why?" Ava asked, who was standing by the cutting board, chopping some veggies beside Y/n

"Is Mr. Kim keeping you up, hmn?" She teased, elbowing her in her side gently while giving her a playful smirk.

"Shut up," Y/n shot her a glare despite the smile tugging at her lips before looking back at Yuna, who was shaking her head at their conversation.

"It's not that Aunt Yuna... It's just .. " Y/n trailed off, pursing her lips.

"Hmm... You should rest more and eat healthy, I guess .. It's better for your health now..." Yuna suggested, her hands moving swiftly as she shaped the rice into small balls.

"So how was the breakfast the other day? Did you enjoy the surprise. That was so beautiful!" Ava gushed, glancing at Y/n with excitement causing Y/n to snap her gaze at her.

"Did you guys help him?" She asked in return, her eyes wide.

"We did." Yuna replied with a small smile

"In making the breakfast. He was here to make something, I guess, but we somehow convinced him not to." Ava added, cackling making Yuna do the same.

"And he agreed?" Y/n asked, amused.

"Yes. He said he had other things to look after anyway.
And after what happened the last time, I don't think we could've handled another kitchen disaster, and he luckily spared us." Yuna said, cackling, still focused on her cooking.

"Oh, don't remind me! It took us two hours just to clean everything up." Ava remarked, her voice filled with playfulness. Yuna agreed, nodding.

"but, he tried hard that day. I woke up to the smell of smoke, and when I came into the kitchen, he was already there with three pans on the stove, eggs burning in one, pancake batter overflowing from another. He looked so proud, too, that he was cooking until I hesitantly told him that it was burned.." Yuna laughed, recalling the chaos as the younger girls joined in the laughter. Y/n's mind took her back to the day when she was kidnapped, and he stayed home the next day, spending time with her to take her mind off those things.

"Gosh. Those poor pans!" Ava groaned dramatically.

"I spent hours scrubbing them. I managed to save one, but the other two were totally burned.." Ava shook her head, and Y/n couldn't help but giggle.

"Well, at least he tried. But the kitchen definitely isn't his territory." Yuna said. Y/n nodded, her smile softening as she stared at the stove, her eyes twinkling as she remembered him..
