Chapter 1
(POV Neville)
I paced around Hogsmeade, watching the Hogwarts students streaming in and out of the shops. I could see Luna, sitting alone in The Three Broomsticks, drinking a Butterbeer. I sighed at her beauty. Most people thought Luna was weird and out of her mind, but I thought different.
I have known her for 6 years, and I consider her as one of my best friends.
When I finally plucked up the courage, I walked up to The Three Broomsticks and opened the door. But at the same moment I heard Professor Mcgonagall's voice shouting all over Hogsmeade.
"All students, please line up in front, and in your houses."
Oh no, it was time to go! I could see Luna's radish earrings dangling as she reached for her back and got up.
"Oh, hello Neville," she said in her usual, mysterious voice. "Walk back with me?"
"Wait Luna, I need to tell you something!"
Luna looked back at me.
"OK Neville. What is it?"
"I-I... I like you," I finally stuttered.
"Of course you like me, Neville, you are one of my best friends!"
I smiled at her.
"But I think... I love you."
Luna looked at me with those dreamy, blue eyes and I couldn't resist, so I put my arms around her waist, leaned in and let her soft lips touch mine.
When we finally broke apart, my heart felt all warm and fuzzy.
"So does this mean... We're boyfriend and girlfriend?" Luna asked shyly.
I nodded and smiled broadly. I could feel all the eyes of the Hogwarts students that were already at the door looking our way, but I didn't care. I was with Luna, and that was all that mattered.
"Students, come quickly! We don't want to leave our Hallowe'en feast waiting!" Professor Mcgonagall bellowed again.
So Luna and I walked to the front of Hogsmeade, hand in hand.
(Luna P.O.V)
I could still feel my heart thudding from the kiss. I rushed up to the Ravenclaw common room, and knocked on the door.
"What is the name of the creatures that live quietly and are very secret, and live in the forest with only half a human body?" the door asked me. "Centaurs," I replied. I went in and sat down in the comfortable blue arm chair next to the fire, holding "Hogwarts; a History for the millionth time. But i couldn't concentrate. Neville would be meeting me in half an hour and I wondered what would happen. I have never had a boyfriend before, but I wouldn't mind one.
Neville is just so sweet and soft- I glanced at the Ravenclaw Clock. It was time to meet Neville in the Library! I ran back up to the Library, and I saw Neville waiting there. I wasn't nervous one bit, but I could see it was a big deal for Neville, he was wringing his hands and kept on swallowing.
"H-hi Luna," Neville said.
"Hullo, Neville. What's up?"
Just then I heard Peeves's cackling and turned around to see him dancing and coming towards us. "Loony and Scared-y cat, are together! Hahahaha!"
With one nasty look at Peeves, I took Neville's arm and walked into the library. We found a corner, and Neville pulled up 2 chairs.
"I've never had a boyfriend," I said cheerfully to him. "But I'm glad it's you."
Neville looked at me. "Me too. Ever since we fought together in the Ministry last year, I noticed you were very... Attractive and nice," he mumbled and then blushed.
"You don't have to be shy around me, Neville. After all, we are best friends too!"
Neville looked relieved. He stopped blushing and stuttering and started talking freely, like before. But then we heard the librarian's voice.
"Students, it's time for dinner. Please can all of you return to the Great Hall."
"I guess we got to go," I said, standing up. "Thanks."
"I had a great time. Do you maybe want to meet in Madame Puddifoot's shop tomorrow?"
"You mean... Like a date?" I asked.
"Yeah." Neville smiled. "Well then see ya tomorrow!" I said, and headed towards the Great Hall, leaving Neville looking at me.
