Chapter 7

(P.O.V Neville)

Luna was still sleeping peacefully, with a smile on her face. I wondered how people could have even been happy when I was in plain misery. I climbed back into bed and put the covers around me, making a shelter. I didn't ever want to come out from it.

"Neville," a sweet voice whispered. "Neville."

"Not again," I opened my eyes and I saw Luna standing over me, fully dressed.

"I heard," she said, embracing me in a sad, warm hug.

I let the tears stream down my face.

"Now what are we going to do?" I whispered. "Both of the people who took care of us are gone. What are we going to do?"

Luna sighed.

"We'll think of something. But don't worry about it now, we can stay at Hogwarts for the rest of the school year and then worry about where to live."

I got ready and went down to the Great Hall. It was already Lunch, I guessed I had slept in and no one wanted to wake me up. I could feel the eyes plastered on to my back as I walked in, and I sat down next to Ginny and Dean.

"I'm sorry, mate," Dean said, and both Ginny, Parvati and Lavender gave me hugs.

Days later, they found my grandmother's will. She had given more than half of her things to me, and less than a quarter to my parents. She had even left a note for me in it that said-

Neville, my sweetie.

Be brave. I know you're like your father deep down. Have fun with your life while you can, before it's too late.

That last line had got me thinking, and I decided I wouldn't hang out in the common room all day, feeling sad.

"Hey, guys!" I walked up to Seamus, Ginny and Dean on a trip to Hogsmeade.

"Uh, hi Neville," said Ginny.

I stuck with them for the rest of the day, and Luna came too in the middle.

"We're just going to get a Butterbeer." said Seamus when Luna came.

"We'll pass, thanks," I replied. "So, feel like going anywhere?" I asked Luna.

She looked around.

"Ooh! Look at that shop over there!" she pointed to a shop with a sign reading "Pet Store".

We went into the shop, and I saw something furry immidiately attatch to Luna's feet.

"Aww my god!" Luna reached down to stroke the furry cat. "How much is it?"

"15 Galleons," said the cashier.

In the end, we bought the brown, milky cat.

"Bye, Neville! This has been an amazing day!" Luna said when we were back at Hogwarts, and kissed my cheek.

"No romance in the hallways!" the Carrows snapped, suddenly entering. "Aah, the troublemakers," said Alecto. "What should we do?"

"I think we should put Longbottom here in the Shrieking Shack for the night.. That'll teach him a lesson," said the other.

"I don't care what you do to me, as long as you don't hurt my friends!" I said boldly.

"Oh... What about Miss Lovegood here? We should put her instead," said Alecto Carrow.

Luna had a frightened look on her face. "Yes, we should leave her there instead..."
