Chapter 5
(P.O.V Luna)
My dad was my last family member. I didn't have any aunts or uncles, and I had seen my mother die right in front of my eyes. My father's death was the worst I had ever experienced. But Neville had cheered me up, and we were closer than ever. Within a month of summer holidays him and we knew almost everything about eachother, and were constantly telling jokes. One time we were sitting on our bed in the afternoon, playing cards. Neville's grandma, Ms Longbottom put her head through the door. "Your friends are at the phone, dears," she said. Neville and I looked at eachother. "It must be Harry, Ginny Ron and Hermione," Neville said. We went to the phone and I picked it up. "Hi Luna! What's up?" came Ginny's friendly voice through the phone. "I'm fine, Ginny! What's happening?" "We were wondering if you and Neville would like to come over to the Burrow for lunch this afternoon? Harry and Hermione are here, too," she said. I quickly asked Ms Longbottom if it was alright, and she said alright. "We'd love to come! See you soon," I said, and put the phone down. Before I put it down I heard Ron say "Come on! I'm starving!" "Let's go!" I said to Neville. "We can't apparate, so how do you want to go?" Neville asked me. "I have an idea," I said. We walked out into the garden and blew the whistle that was always around my neck. 2 Thestrals arrived, from behind the bushes. "Thestrals!" Neville said, patting one. "You can see them? Who have you seen die?" I asked him. "My great aunt, she was quite a wild one and crashed into a tree while driving a Muggle car." he answered. We got onto the Thestrals and flew off. It felt good to be in the open air. I smelt the fresh air and smiled at the view of the city. I pecked on Neville's cheek, who was next to me. "Let's say we have a race till the burrow!" Neville said. "You're on!" I laughed.
(P.O.V Neville)
Luna rung the door bell. Ginny opened the door. "Hi Luna! Hi Neville!" she beckoned us inside, where Harry, Ron and Hermione were talking and laughing. "Whats up guys!" Ron said. "Everythings fine, and Luna is a bunch of fun, staying at our house!" I said. "Well, you're just in time to play a game of Quidditch," Harry said, taking out the set of balls for Quidditch. "Alright, but can I please be on a good team, you know I am hopeless at it!" Hermione whined. "Alright... How about girls against boys?" Harry suggested. We flew into the garden on our broomsticks. Oh no, I thought. I was terrible at flying, maybe even worse than Hermione. The girls won, with Hermione staying on the side most of the game, leaving Luna- an okay Quidditch player- and Ginny to play. Mrs Weasley called us inside for Lunch. By the time I was starving, and we all knew Mrs Weasley was the best cook. We had roast beef with mashed potatoes and peas. "So, how is your and Luna's relationship going?" Harry whispered to me when the girls were having a conversation about a Muggle beauty magazine. "I never imagined i could know someone so well," I replied. Harry grinned and went back to eating. I noticed Harry, Ron and Hermione whispering about something that sounded like "Horcruxes" I knew I had heard that word somewhere... But I would have to find out later.
