Chapter 8

Corahn opened the door. When he saw me he gave me the tightest hug while bringing me inside the house 

"Missed you" Corahn said 

I nodded my head " I know" 

"Im glad you came today" 

" Yeah , I know both you and mama lockridge can use some support today" I looked over at the kitchen and saw that food was made 

"You cooked ?" I asked 

Corahn smiled a little "I thought i should do something to calm my mom down before she hears the news .. " 

"yup your mom loves her food" 

Corahn laughed a little " Like always .. can I tell you something ? "

"Sure" 

"Um Janie is letting me name the baby"

I made a confused face " really ?" 

Corahn nodded his head

"What if the baby is not yours ?" I asked

"She doesn't care she still wants me to name it" 

"are you ok with that ?" 

Corahn shrugged his shoulders " I don't mind" 

"have any names in mind ? " 

Corahn smiled and looked at me " some " 

"tell me" 

" well I like Malaysia, Sammie, or Aliyah .. but then I wanted to name her after someone very special .. so I came up with Skyla " Corahn smiled at me 

I looked away from Corahn " Corahn not to be rude or anything but I wouldn't want the baby's name to be named after me " 

Corahn made a confused and sad face "how come ?"

"Because the baby might not be even be yours "

"you know I want this baby to be mine .." 

"What ?? why ?? " I asked in a shocked tone 

"Because I can just imagine holding a little girl in my hands and giving her the world , I mean having a baby girl is something beautiful " Corahn explained 

"of course it is but not at your age , Cor if this baby isn't yours don't break your back for her" 

Corahn shook his head " I don't know if that's possible , I don't want that baby growing up without a father .. I know how it is not to have a father and I don't want that for her " 

"if you take in a baby that isn't your , your whole life is going to change" 

Corahn shrugged his shoulders " Maybe chnage isn't such a bad thing " 

"why do I smell food in this house ??" Mama Lockridge asked in amazment coming inside the house 

"You ready ?" I whispered to Corahn

Corahn nodded his head with a small smile on his face

"How did she take it " Bella asked while playing with her ice cream 

"she cried her eyes out .. god I felt so bad for her "

Bella sighed "poor lady hopefully this baby isn't his " 

"Doesn't matter he's keeping the baby no matter what " 

"Are you serious ???" 

"yes but we will have this conversation another day" i said rolling my eyes 

Bella nodded her head " i need to talk to you about something " 

"Shoot" 

"I found out about how Anthony's got that money almost two weeks ago " Bella said 

I widden my eyes " like .. you know everything ?" 

"yeah ... it's kinda hard for me to talk about it , that's why it took me so long to talk to you about it" 

I shook my head " No I understand" 

"He said hes gonna stop in a couple of months when he gets the amount of money he wants " 

"Are you okay with that ?" I asked 

"Hell no .. but he said he's gonna stop soon and I believe him so .. " 

"He's gonna stop soon ,he would give up anything for you he truly loves you"

Bella smiled "yea I know I just wish he didn't have to do stuff like that .. I don't know how I would live if something happened to him " 

I pulled Bella into a hug " everything is gonna be alright I promise "
