Chapter 12: The sleepover part 2

Chapter 12

I wake up the next morning to everyone still asleep and I realise that I have only gotten 2 hours of it. I sigh and then I get up and head out to watch the sunrise. I sit down at the edge of the small cliff again and I run my hands through the grass as I watch the midnight blue sky turn purple then orange and red soon it will turn to a lighter blue colour. I then think about how it's funny that the sky goes through all those colours just to arrive back to a lighter blue. I didn't even notice that Edric joined me for halve if the sunrise until he rested his head on my shoulder when it finished. I tense up slightly, but I see it's just Edric, so I relax and smile at him softly.

"How can you even handle getting up this early? I'm so tired." He grumbles tiredly.

"Why don't you go back to sleep?" I gently ask him.

"There's no point once I'm awake I'm awake." He says lifting his head again. "Plus, you looked lonely out here I thought I could keep you company. I haven't been able to hang out with my best friend, you, one on one a lot because we are hanging out with the others." He points out and I feel slightly sad when he says best friend. I guess he doesn't feel the same way. Well, I don't deserve the love anyways, so it doesn't matter.

"We'll hang out after the sleepover." I say then I add "I promise." To which Edric smiled to.

"Yay!" he said semi-excited, but he is still half asleep so that's all I can expect.

"Go back to sleep Ed I'll be fine out here." I say softly again seeing how tired he is.

"Noo." Edric whines "I don't want to leave you." He says quietly but falls asleep again to which I giggle at his adorableness he feel asleep on my shoulder but I don't think it's very comfortable, so I pick him up and bring him inside back in his sleeping bag.

"Goodnight." I say softly and before I could stop myself, I add. "I love you" and then I blush heavily. I quickly go back outside I walk for a bit then I scream into my hands embarrassed. I come back and sit in the shade of a tree my back leaning on it. Slowly I fall asleep as well. In my sleep I feel I warm tube like thing back me up and put me back inside on my sleeping bag.

"Goodnight, friend." It says only slightly whispering. I wake up a few hours later to find that everyone else is not here and I hear them in the kitchen making something called pancakes they keep saying.

"Morning." I say to them confused at what they are doing. Luz then comes over to me and smacks me on the back of my head.

"Don't fall asleep outside." She said glaring at me. "I thought you knew how many demons that are out there that can eat you." I rub the back of my head. "You are lucky hooty brought you in."

"Sorry" I mutter wanting to smack her back, but Amity is glaring at me as if she knows what I'm thinking and if I try, she will probably beat me up. Then I go to the next strategy defend myself. "But Edric feel asleep outside as well." I point out.

"Yah but he was with you so you would have protected him if you got attacked." She says back.

"What makes you say I'd protect him." I say back then of course Edric interrupted.

"So, you wouldn't protect me blondie. Ugh betrayed." He said being his dramatic self and I sighed.

"Ok fine I would but that's not the point." Luz is giving me a 'I told you so' smile. I glare at her. I then help the others make the 'Pancakes' but I continue to squabble with Luz while doing that. (They are siblings your honour.)

At one point I threaten to wack Luz with a wooden spoon. Gus and Emira were just watching enjoying the drama pretending to eat popcorn with illusions. Edric looks slightly worried but stays back and Willow has this look in her eye that's saying 'why are all my friends idiots' While she continues to make pancakes. Amity heard me threaten Luz and goes into protective girlfriend mode and wacks me against the wall with abomination magic giving Luz a hug. Luz smiles cheekily at me and I glare at her, but instead of doing anything else I just wipe the abomination goo off.
