Zoro stepped out of the lift, with the grocery in his hand, when he heard Luffy screaming at someone. What the hell is going on? He thought. He quickened his pace, ready to defend his protectors.
"Luffy, who the hell are you shouting at? We don't want to have problems with the neighbours." Zoro said, but nobody answered me. Zoro could feel the tension that was in the air. He decided to let go of the groceries to have a look at what was happening. When he rose, he was shocked to see the blond standing there. He thought he would never see the cook again, but there he was, just in front of him. Their eyes met, and Zoro's heart accelerated.
"Sanji..." Zoro whispered, not believing it. After one week, without seeing each other, here he was. His nightmares from the night came back in his mind. They both were lost in the eyes of each other. Zoro didn't know how to react. He wasn't ready to face the blonde, and at the same time, he missed him so much.
"Sanji was leaving, don't worry, Zoro." Luffy said, which made both snaps from their staring. For a moment, they forgot they weren't alone. Sanji shook his head.
"Zoro, please, I just want to talk." Sanji tried.
"I don't have anything to say to you." Zoro responded, crossing his arm on his chest. He hated the effect the blond had on him.
"Zoro, please. If it's not today, I will come back tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, and every day till you listen to me. I don't ask you to talk, I want you just to listen to me. So please!" Sanji begged him with the determination that could be read in his eyes. Zoro knew that the blond wouldn't let go, and he wanted to be over with it. Once the talking is done, he will leave their lives for good, or at least he hoped so. So he just let go.
"OK." Zoro sighed and took back the grocery bags he left on the floor. Sanji smiled, happy that the blond agreed to listen to him. He didn't think it would be that easy.
"What? But Zoro!" Luffy complained and looked at Sanji badly.
"Luffy, don't. We will be in the kitchen." Zoro replied and went to the kitchen, quickly followed by Sanji. He knew that he fucked up so he could understand why Luffy was so protective toward Zoro.
Zoro entered the kitchen and lay on the table one bag of the grocery, while he kept the second one and started unpacking. Sanji looked at him, he was facing Zoro's back, so he could stare at his body. He went from head to toe, looking intensively at each part of the body. This confirmed his previous observation that Zoro had lost a lot of weight, and he seemed tired.
They were both silent, Sanji didn't know how to start or if he had to wait for Zoro to finish unpacking the groceries. He had time to think about what he was going to say on the plane. But now, that he had to face Zoro, all his strength seemed to have disappeared. Sanji saw the second bag of groceries next to him, maybe he could start by helping him.
"I'm going to help you!" Sanji stated and started unpacking the bag. Zoro turned around to look at what the cook was referring to but shrugged when he saw the blond taking the groceries out. The most important is that he was going to gain time. And after the blond will leave.
"Okay, just let the ingredients for the miso soup out, please."
"What is a miso soup?" Sanji asked frowning.
"You're a cook and don't know it?" Zoro asked surprised.
"Well, a cook doesn't know all the receipts of the world. My cook is mostly European food." Sanji explained.
"That's why. It's a traditional, Japanese dish, it's a soup made with vegetables and meat. What is good is that you can add all the topping that you want, so the boys loved it." Zoro explained, forgetting for one moment the conversation they needed to have.
