She hadn't spoken to Dade since that time. Her phone was returned a while ago, but she couldn't muster the courage to text him. She felt bad that he didn't even call or text her; she didn't think that he'd actually follow through with her impulsive words.
Truth is, he hadn't been in talking terms with many people, other than his family.
He dropped by during the holiday and went back. His mother conveyed Chae's messages to him - she'd often come around to see if he was home.
Dade couldn't stay mad at her forever, but he hadn't completely gotten over what she did. He felt the need to play hard-to-get for a while. He was glad internally that Chae looked for him and did a great job hiding it. Knowing all too well the game he was playing, his mom scolded him.
Momma Dade: Would you quit playing hide-and-seek? It's tiring to watch the poor girl come and go in disappointment.
Dade: All in due time. I'm just trying her patience, just as she did mine. I don't mind being called petty for it, so don't bother.
Momma Dade: That doesn't give you the right to disappear on us like that, too. Get your ass back here already.
Dade: Hmm. I'm thinking of staying here. The environment is nice, the band is a success, we're about to debut, so I might go full-time. Momma Dade: Dade...
Dade: I was just joking. Not about the debut part. I'll be back soon, but I might have to relocate, I'll talk to my manager about it. Don't worry so much.
Momma Dade: Ok. But don't take too long to return. School's about to begin. Take care of yourself, honey. Dade: You too, mom. Kisses.
He returned after a week.
Chae Rin had changed so much during the holiday. She became more reserved, and her appearance changed as well. The girl known for her preppy looks, wearing bangs, ponytails, cute accesories, cut her hair and did an underdye, and changed her wardrobe completely. She looked much smarter and relaxed.

She made sure to avoid Brian and his confederation of friends. Her sole mission was to find Dade and apologize.
She searched the places he usually went to, asked some of his friends and still couldn't find him. Perhaps he didn't go to school that day.
She didn't relent in looking for him. She did the same thing for one week before she gave up, assuming that he probably didn't return to the country and now resided there.
