She recently had a crush that's not really that much of a heartthrob in comparison to her best friend. He doesn't like her crush and gets overprotective whenever she's around him. He acts the same when guys she coexist with get too close, too.
Both of them have no idea how they became so close, as they had almost nothing in common. It's not the first time she's crushed on someone, but she expected that he'd chill and face his numerous fangirls.
She'd roll her eyes and tease him whenever a girl approached him, calling him a celebrity because he was always getting asked out by many girls and surrounded by them till sundown.
Sometimes, he'd even go out with a few, but prioritized his high fashion, guitar playing, and art career over them. He needed to get good grades to follow his dreams.
Perhaps that was one of the reasons he befriended her. At least, that's what he made her believe. There were several instances where he'd step in between the said crush and his best friend because they were being awkward.
Chapter #1:
Dade was stepping out of class, unconsciously melting the hearts of his fans as he walked by. They were literally starry-eyed and making those cue gags and screams, drawing his attention. He simply waved, and they were on the floor.

His smile faded when he saw his bestie waving at someone around his classroom.
Chae Rin was right outside when she saw Brian, a guy from her class whom she had a crush on. He saw her and she waved at him with wide eyes and he winked at her. She was over the moon but couldn't stop waving. Dade stood beside her, deadpanned and annoyed, so he tapped her.
Dade: Y'know he left a while ago, right?
Chae Rin: Uh-huh. Oh heyy~ I was waiting for you.
Dade: Sure you were. Let's go.
Chae Rin had her head up in the clouds. She sighed happily and squealed, just daydreaming about the impossible. Dade was not having it, though.

Dade: Ugh. Get a grip. He's just a guy.
Chae Rin: What's your deal? Can't I fawn over someone? I mean, all your girlfriends do it, and you don't complain, just 'cause it's for you.
Dade: *murmurs* who wouldn't complain if they were in my shoes..
Chae Rin: Did you say something?
Dade: Hm? Um, yeah, whatever. Let's get some food.
Chae Rin: Okay.
Dade knew a playboy when he saw one. He's a heartthrob, after all. So he knew from the get-go that Brian was a chronic heartbreaker, and he didn't want Chae Rin to suffer because of him. But telling her that would make him seem bitter, right? Of course. He was going to do it either way.
