~29~

Just like when they were alone together at the vacation villa, once they started, they couldn't seem to get enough of one another. It seemed like when they were not sightseeing or working, they were fucking. In the bedroom, in the shower (Jimin really seems to like this every morning), even the island in the kitchen late one night when they had decided on midnight snacks. The last few days of Skylar's stay in Seoul were bliss. Until suddenly it was time for her to return home.

"I'm going to miss you so much, jagiya", Jimin says, for what must be the hundredth time, as they pull up to the airport. He had insisted on traveling with Skylar to see her off, arranging for a different car and driver in order to stay inconspicuous.

"I know, me too," she sighs in agreement, "But it will only be a couple months, I'm meeting you when you come over for that video shoot, remember?" Skylar reminded him. They had made plans for her to meet Jimin when he and his group traveled to her country for a video filming. She would still need to fly to meet him, but it was much faster and easier than flying back to Seoul again.

"I know, but that seems so long," he pouts as he pulls her in for one last hug. "I'll call you every day though!"

She giggles at this. "Jimin, you guys have a super busy schedule coming up. You know as well as I do that you won't be able to guarantee daily. But we will do the best we can."

"How did I ever get lucky enough to have such an understanding girlfriend?" he ponders by way of response. This catches Skylar off guard; they had never really declared their relationship official, but she supposes she is his girlfriend. She had flown all this way to see him, they plan to communicate frequently despite the distance, and already have plans for when they can meet in person next.

Yes, this could be considered an apt description of a long-distance relationship. She rolls with it.

"Pfft. I'm not that understanding; I just like my independence", she teases him.

"Just not too independent, ok?" Jimin pouts back, making her melt. She leans in to give him one final kiss goodbye, promising to call as soon as she lands, regardless of the time difference, and exits the car.

The hardest thing Skylar has ever done is walk away without looking back, without turning to give a final wave before being swallowed up by the crowd. They had agreed beforehand that it is best to pretend she had arrived alone, so as not to draw curiosity from onlookers. There is always the chance of Jimin being spotted by media sites, camped at the airport in the hopes of catching sight of a celebrity.

As she boards the plane and gets ready for takeoff, Skylar can't help but feel she has left a part of her heart and soul in Seoul.

*******

As it turns out, over the next 2 months things go very smoothly. Skylar and Jimin are able to connect every day, in some way. Some days it's just a quick "I miss you" text from Jimin, others it's an hours-long video call. Even Skylar traveling to meet Jimin had been easy to arrange, her job giving her a viable excuse when Jimin's company reached out to Mr. Tyler at Siren to request Skylar specifically, citing that Jimin felt comfortable with her and the company had appreciated her discretion during their first project together.

And so it continued, for about half a year, one of them traveling to meet the other, Skylar continuing to do coverage on BTS, as well as her growing travel blog on the side. It quickly gained a following on Instagram, her travels around the globe to meet with Jimin giving her plenty of content to work with.

Until one day, Skylar received news that would change everything.
