"How long are you staying with Caius?" Jade asks, and I could tell she was excited that he and I were becoming so close.

"Only a few more days. I haven't really felt ready to go back home just yet." I respond, playing with the fabric of Caius' button up shirt I decided to wear. He left to go run some errands, and I hadn't felt like going with. I decided it might be best to get myself caught up in school, since I hadn't done any homework for a little while. I'd been a little preoccupied, to say the least.

"Just move in already- you guys have already fucked and fallen in love. Just be like 'I love you, I'm moving in.' That's basically what all adult relationships are at this point anyways." she says, laughing at her joke. I smile and laugh in response.

"Actually, no. We haven't fucked. We haven't even kissed yet. I'm starting to think that I'm just a good friend of his at this point, but the way he treats me suggests otherwise. We did almost kiss the other day, but he got all weird and just pulled away like nothing happened." I say, swinging my feet in the air as I lay on my stomach on Caius' bed.

"Well, I'd say it's about time YOU make a move. If he isn't making any moves, I think it's fair to say that you're in charge here. Just kiss him and tell him how you feel." she encourages, and I groan.

"What do I even say? Hey Caius, I'm falling in love with you. Wanna fuck?"

"No. You tell him how you appreciate how he's been there for you, and that you are starting to feel deeply for him. Seal it with a kiss. Be smooth, not awkward. You have no game, I swear. It's easier than it seems, you just gotta be brave. No- we don't need to bring that." She says, and I can hear Bryce's voice in the background.

"Sorry Jaz, I have to go. Bryce needs help packing- it's like he's never traveled before. We decided to go on a last minute trip since things have been going so great, and he got a pay raise! But yeah, you got this, Jazzy. Be brave! I love you."

"I love you too. Tell him I said hey." I say, hanging up the phone.

I guess they've been together for a few months, but she didn't want to introduce us until a few weeks ago. Mostly to avoid the embarrassment of introducing him to the family, just for them to end up not staying together. It made sense to me, so I didn't ask her to explain any further.

I wanted to tell her about everything happening, and that we're demigods. But I knew I couldn't, and Caius, very adamantly, claims that I shouldn't. It would put her in danger, as well as everyone else. She has a bit of a temper.

I open my laptop, groaning after I realize that I have a LOT of homework to do, and not very much time to do it. I look at the time, realizing I only have 4 hours before my assignment is due.

"Fuck." I whisper to myself. At least I got all my notes done, so I don't need to worry about that. I text Caius, asking him how things are going. He'd been gone for a while now, so it wouldn't hurt to check on him.

Time passes quickly as I do my school work, but the worry and anxiety begins to creep in as it does. He hadn't texted back yet and I had started to get concerned. He's just busy I tell myself, trying to not let these feelings get the best of me.

The sun begins to set as my stomach begins to grumble. I go to the kitchen, pulling out the salmon I had put in the fridge to that, as well as a caesar salad kit.

I begin cooking, hearing my phone vibrate on the counter. I check it to see that it's Caius.

I'll be back in about an hour. I have to stop by the club and do some paperwork for the incident report I had to file from when Cronus and his cohorts broke in. I'll see you soon. x
