REFLECTION.
By the time Y/N was back, he found the boy sleeping on the couch. He lightly chuckled at the sight. He remembered how he would sleep on the couch after a long night and he was too tired to take a shower or go to his room. With another chuckle, he walked over to the couch and picked up the boy to tuck him into bed.
He walked into the boy's new room and loved how he did it. It was simple, but sweet. He had placed a few posters that consisted of some bands that he didn't know and anime. He also had placed a lot of polaroid pictures around his room. He had a picture in a display that consisted of him and his parents. He looked at how happy they were. The boy looked like was 5 at the time. He smiled at the picture.
The boy was lucky he was born into a good family. He didn't have a relationship with his father and wasn't on good terms with his mother. His face was full of grimace. He didn't hate his mother, he loved her in a way. But she never cared for him, not ever in his entire life. He didn't want to think about his past, he tried his best to avoid it.
Shaking his head to get out of that bad mindset, he placed the boy into the bed gently and tucked him in. The boy was sound asleep and looked like he was having a good dream. He looked to his side to see a cute teddy bear. He grabbed the bear and placed it near the boy who unconsciously hugged it.
He smiled at the sight. He then turned around and went outside. He just sat on the couch and watched TV. His body felt weak that day, tired. He felt all of his energy drained from his emotional breakdown, the fight with Nomus, the heavy loss of his blood, and adopting a kid. He felt like this all happened after meeting Aizawa. The underground hero is a unique person in his perspective. He wished he would have met him during his youth, then maybe he wouldn't have turned out the way he is now.
He groaned. He didn't know he was thinking about this. He felt like he has not reflected on anything, why is he reflecting now? Now out of all times? Was it because of his interaction with Kaito? He shivered at the thought of his name. He couldn't forget the amount of times the boy, now an adult, burned him everyday.
He remembered how his little bitch boys would follow him around, snickering and mocking him while Kaito took out his anger at him, enjoying the hurt face he had. The look on his face must've been priceless every time. The way his swollen face, eyes filled with tears, looking up at the boys with fear in his eyes. He bet the boys enjoyed seeing him suffer. He started to curl up in a ball on the sofa.
He could feel his eyes tearing up. Fuck, fuck, fuck he repeatedly cursed in his head. He was trying his best not to cry. He hated whenever he randomly reflected on the past. He knew he wasn't the most innocent kid either. He wasn't honest, he would often steal from his part-time job during middle school until his second year in high school. His mother didn't care, as long as she had money for her favorite sake. Whenever he provided little money, wasting the money on appliances and bills, she would grab one of her empty sake bottles and smash it in his face.
He chuckled to himself whenever he remembered the times she was nice to him when she was drunk. Sometimes, she would actually act the mother she was supposed to be to him. The caring mother who should've showered him with love and support. Instead she showered him in guilt and pain. He didn't hate his mother, he still loved her in a way. He just wished she would have treated him better.
Oh how he wished for a loving mother. Or maybe a loving father? No, that wasn't possible. His drunken mother would always say she slept around and never knew who his father was. But maybe, if his father was around, he might've turned a bit better.. Or could've turned out a lot worse..
He slowly got up from his sofa and made his way to his apartment's balcony. The apartment wasn't the biggest, but it was decent enough to have a long life there, with a balcony with a good view. He could see the city's lights light up in a starling night. He loved how pretty the city was at night, he was his favorite thing as a kid. He had always tried his best not to be at home and go to the highest place he could find, thanks to his Quirk, climb up and watch the stars sparkle.
He believes that his past wasn't the greatest, he didn't want to think about his mother or anyone. But he holds dear towards his quiet moments during his youth.Perhaps, he'll try doing the best he can for Akuma, to give the boy the same love and support he had from his parents. He's considered a villain to most people, he feared what would happen if others were to find out about his adoptive son. He feared for his safety.
I'll just have to disguise myself , Y/N thought to himself. He would have to disguise himself if he wants to pick the boy up from school or events. Of course, he could just cut off his arm and pretend he was a disabled father. Yeah... good enough. He shrugged.
His short reflection gave him a sense of guilt. He felt guilty for being such a bad person, a weak person in the past. He was glad he was able to grow up, stronger than ever. He knew he can't undo the past, he can't hold on to the past for too long. He knew it was eating him from the inside but he'll just have to bear it.
He was determined to change for the better in terms of personality. In terms of his vigilant acts, he'll never change. He still hates every villain who has harmed others, he still believes they deserved death. He remembered how Eraserhead said he didn't have the right to pick who deserves mercy and who doesn't. The hero was right, unfortunately.
But he didn't care. If villains are allowed to roam free after their sentence, after all they have done, it wasn't right to him. He doesn't want them to be alive, to be given a second chance, knowing they'll fall into the same pattern once they're free. He believes sending them to Hell after suffering a gruesome death is what they deserved.
He knows he'll be going to Hell once he dies and he's alright with that.
