"Thomas Hiddleston, we've faffed about enough. You and me? We are getting married, and I'm not taking no for an answer!"

Tom stared down at her, face awash with tears, heart about to burst. All his fear and self loathing evaporating in the radiance of her smile. "Yes, my darling Ali, a million times yes. I love you. It will be my unending privilege to be your husband." He kissed her softly. "Forgive my foolishness?" He smiled, and she nodded.

"There's nothing to forgive, silly. Even you're human, you know!" She hugged him again.

"Don't let Loki hear you say that!" He said quietly into her ear as they embraced.

"Why? Will he punish me?" She whispered softly, a slight catch to her voice. The feeling of him in her arms, the low voice in her ear, their love overwhelming her. Somewhere deep down, a fire smouldered.

"Oh my Pet, merely punishing you would be far too easy. I intend to torture you. Slowly, intimately, in every way, your mind can concoct.  And when I have reduced you to a mewling quim...." he placed his lips on her neck and sucked gently, leaving a faintly pink mark, "I will give you everything you so richly deserve."

"Oh dear God." She murmured, the smouldering fire now a raging inferno.  Tom moaned softly as he pressed his hard body to hers, lifted her into his arms, and carried her back to bed.

It took a long time to put that particular fire out.

The next morning, he was gone when she woke. She looked over and saw a little note on the pillow next to her.  Another precious letter.

Where before, this would have made her worry and fret after last night? She had no such qualms.  A gentle ache reminding her exactly how much 'firefighting' they had done.

"Morning, my love .... my Fiancée!

Just nipped out for an hour or so, a couple of little errands to run. Stay in bed, love, rest, and relax. When I come back, we can go for breakfast and then a little surprise, ok?

I've asked Luke to join us for dinner tonight, I thought we could tell him together?

See you later, Mrs Hiddleston-to-be.

Love you with all my heart.

Your soon to be husband xxxxx"

She lay back on the pillows and smiled, clutching the note to her chest.

Before she knew it, she'd nodded off again, still holding the letter, still smiling.  Even when the door opened and Tom appeared, laden with a huge bouquet of flowers and a small gift bag, she didn't stir.

He stopped and looked at her. Never, in all his life, had he felt such love. Either for, or from, anyone. He prayed  he would be worthy of her. This time, he knew he could try to be.

Walking over to the bed, he sat on the edge of it beside her and gently kissed her.  As his lips left her again, her eyes fluttered open, and she smiled. "You're back then."

"Of course." He grinned at her. "And I bring gifts...." he produced the flowers and the bag as she sat up against the plush headboard. Her face lit up as she sniffed the blooms.

"Oh Tom, thank you - they're beautiful!" She looked up at him. "What did I do to deserve these?" She held the bouquet out, and he placed them on the table at the side.

"Nothing other than be here?" He said with a slight shrug. "For me? That deserves all the flowers in the world.  But since we have limited space and time in which to enjoy them, one bunch will have to do for the moment." He kissed her again, softly.
"Now, this present isn't quite what it appears to be. If you can guess, then you can have it ok?"  He placed the little gift bag in her hands and looked both smug and excited in one go.

Ali laughed. He really was just a big kid.  Her big kid. Carefully, she opened the dark bag, to find equally dark tissue paper. Looking up, she raised an eyebrow and he smiled.  Shaking his head, he motioned, locking  his lips. She smiled and delved in.

Her hand felt something solid. She frowned a little, unable to work out what it was. Tom merely grinned.  Extracting it, she was none the wiser. It was a key. In fact, it was two keys. One brightly coloured about four inches in length, the end of it for all the world looking like a 'D'.  The other? Plain brass.

"Ok.... so they're keys..." she looked at him, and he smiled. "But I'm guessing this one...." she held up the D-key "doesn't open the same door as this..." This time, the brass one was brandished.

"So far, so good.  Any ideas?" He could barely contain his excitement.

"Is... no.. it's ... oh, GOD, it's a DISNEY key! Are... we... no! OHMYGODWEREGOINGTODISNEYLAND!!!!" She almost leapt off the bed at him and threw herself around his neck, showering him with kisses.  "Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've always wanted to go....." she paused .Can we go to Galaxies Edge?" She grinned, and he looked aghast.

"STAR WARS! YOU WANT TO GO TO STAR WARS!" he placed a hand over his heart and collapsed back, mortally wounded. He closed his eyes and pretended to die very badly.  Ali grinned and kissed him soundly.

"Only after we go to Avengers Campus, of course!" She teased.  Tom opened an eye and sighed.

"Oh, if I must. My tiresome brother will want to speak to me, no doubt.  You stay away from the Tin Man, though. He'll try to steal you from me."

"Of course, my Prince!" She nodded contritely and looked at him, her eyes flashing. "The Winter Soldier, though...."  she grinned and ducked as he tried to grab her.  "Oh no. I still have another key....." she turned it over in her hands.  It was obviously brand new. The edges of it sharp and clean. The brass still undimmed by use.

Tom drew her close and cuddled up to her. "Any guesses for this one?" He said softly, and she shook her head.

"Well, I think if we are to be married, then it might be an idea if we live in the same house, don't you?" He said softly. She looked up at him, the truth of that suddenly blindingly obvious. "Soooo, I thought that at least to begin with; before we choose one together, you might like to move in with me now?" He waited, expectantly nervous.

Ali clutched the little key in her hand and kissed him. "Thank you, darling. Thank you so much."

"Is that a yes?" He asked, biting his lip.

"That's a definite yes!" She nodded, smiling and crying again, happy tears.

"Wonderful! Bobby will be so happy!" He smiled, and she punched his arm.

"Just Bobby?"

"Well, Mum and Emma too."

"Oh, YOU!" She laughed, and he caught her in his arms.

"Get dressed, love. we have breakfast to eat and then... your surprise!" He sounded so pleased with himself.

"Another one?" She scrambled to get her clothes. "What more could you possibly have for me? What woman was ever more spoiled than me? Thank you, love."

"Oh, Ali, you haven't seen it yet.  You might just regret that you did!"  Tom stood and walked through to the lounge to wait for her.  This was going to be a VERY good day.....
