Present Hannah's POV
"I just hate how all the ink is messed up!" I exclaimed, "I don't even know how to find the original email."
"Do you think that the letter Marc wrote to him was important?" Charlotte asked.
"It had to have been! Marc is super weird, I bet the letter was as weird as him."
"Calm down, Hannah. There's no need to insult him."
"It's almost like he was in love with my brother. My haircut doesn't make things any better, you should hear the things he says to me!"
"What if he was in love with your brother?"
"I doubt it."
"I mean, Micheal did have a lover and they were pretty close."
"That's because they were best friends! I bet Marc knows something about his lover, he just doesn't want to tell me."
She sighed, "I'll try recovering the email but no promises. Do you know if it was from his school account or his home email?"
"Charlotte, the ink is completely smudged. I only know it's from Marc because his name was written on the back. I'm pretty sure Micheal had to write it because of how messed up the signature on the email was. Also, I already looked through his school emails. I couldn't find anything. I don't know the password to his personal email address."
"Then check Marc's emails."
We both stared at each other for a few seconds before I said, "That's a great idea but there's a small flaw in your suggestion. How am I supposed to get into his email?"
"Find a way into his dorm, isn't it obvious? You're a horrible detective."
"Hey! I've made great progress so far."
"Oh, yeah? Like what?" she laughed.
I scoffed and left the dorm. I needed to find a way into Marc's dorm and at the same time, no one else could be there. Zach spent a lot of his time in their dorm so, I needed to find a time where he wouldn't be there.
After some thinking, I finally established a plan. I would invite him to hang out in the courtyard. After some time, I'd excuse myself to the restroom and sneak into his dorm after somehow acquiring his key.
Knock, knock. "It's me, Evelyn! Open the door!"
Marc opened the door and behind him was Zach sitting on his bed. "Oh hey, Hannah," Marc began, "Do you need something?"
"There's no way my brother lived in a room with you guys. Your dorm is a mess. How'd you guys win 'cleanest dorm' for six months in a row?"
"Your brother kept it clean. Since he was number one for a while, he used his study halls to clean the dorm. I need to find my brooch before I get my study halls back," he sighed.
"Were you in love with my brother?"
"Well that was rather blunt."
"Is it true?"
"You know that it's not."
"I figured I'd ask anyway. I need to find this secret lover of his somehow."
"Good luck on that."
"Do you know anything about them?"
"I already told you, your brother kept secrets from me too, you know."
"We both know that he trusted you more than anybody else and you know more about him than anybody else."
I turned my head to face Zach, "Hey, blueberry! You're on hall cleaning duty with Aaron."
