Present Micheal's POV
High school graduation, 6:00 pm, June 20th.
"I can't believe I'm standing next to you and we're graduating," Marc said. "So much has changed in such a short amount of time."
"I'm an adult," I began. "Time flew by so quickly."
"Well, at least you're not dead. You got to have a childhood," he smiled.
"I was robbed of my childhood. My parents completely cut me off since I'm no longer of use to them. I can't even call them."
"They cut you off? You never told me that."
"I didnt? No, I'm sure I did."
"Your memory is still off, isn't it?"
"No, I'm pretty sure I'm fine now. I haven't been stressed lately. Really, I haven't!"
"How are you going to survive after high school?"
"I was just asking myself the same question."
"So, you are stressed."
"Marc, what am I going to do! I need to get a scholarship or else I'll die on the streets!"
"You can stay with me for a little. You know, until you get an apartment."
"Or he can stay with me!" Hannah said as she threw her arms around my neck in an attempt to hug me.
I stepped forward and took Marc's arm. The two of us stood in line to walk on stage. Ever since I had been "undead," a lot of things had changed.
I mended my relationship with Hannah even though I was still upset with her for the past. At the end of the day, she was still my twin sister and I wanted to make amends. I cared about her.
Marc and I continued to date each other as well. We started to communicate better and I opened up about my problems to him more often. I refused to get therapy, though. I didn't need it and I couldn't have anyone other than him knowing about my personal problems.
I didn't quit playing the piano. I quit playing competitively, but not as a whole. I loved the piano because it allowed me to express my feelings through music like I had always used it for.
"Micheal Dubois," a voice said as I walked onto the stage to retrieve my diploma. After I got my diploma, I sat down next to Marc and waited for everyone else to finish walking onto the stage. After everyone was off the stage, we threw our hats into the air and everyone said their goodbyes.
Some people were crying (like my stupid sister but it's okay because I love her), so I decided to just hang out with Marc near the tree that he and I would always hang out by.
In the end, I guess Hannah and I both got what we truly wanted. I got to continue playing the piano but this time, it was for myself and not someone else. Hannah got accepted into a really good art school and was interning at an art studio to make money.
"Do you want to go to my place now?" Marc asked.
"I'm going to visit my parents," I said.
"What? Seriously? You're kidding."
"I'm not. I'll get on a train right now, actually. I'll book tickets as I walk to the station," I said as I began to walk. "We live in the same town anyways."
"Be careful, I guess."
"They're my parents. What are they gonna do, hit me? After what Vanessa did to me, I can preserve through anything, babe!" I exclaimed. "That reminds me! Can I sue her?" Before he could respond, I kissed him. "Yeah, I think I'll sue her. See ya! I've got a train to catch."
