This chapter is a little short, but it's cute. Hopefully this will make up for the emotional chapter coming up😗

(Lucas' POV)

As we step into the burger restaurant, I notice the bewildered expression on Lexi's face. It's clear that this isn't his usual scene, and I can't help but find it endearing. I lead him to a table near the window, the chatter of other people filling the air around us. Sliding into the seat across from him, I can't suppress a grin as I watch him glance around, clearly out of his element. We both get a menu from a waiter.

His confusion grows as he scans the menu. "Where are the palate cleansers and the amuse-bouche?" He mutters more to himself than to me. "The what?" I smile as I realize that he's never been to a normal restaurant before. This is going to be quite a shock for someone who's used to the fanciest elite-food. "I think we're in for a different kind of dining experience tonight, Lexi," I say with a grin, reaching across the table to gently squeeze his hand. "But I promise you, it'll be delicious."

He looks down at our hands and smiles. I still can't believe he agreed to this date. When the waiter approaches, Lexi's demeanor shifts slightly, his posture straightening as he adjusts to the formalities of ordering. "I'll have... um... the classic cheeseburger, please," he says, handing back the menu with a polite nod. I choose the Bacon's delight. Both our meals come with a side of fries. A different waiter comes back to hand us our drinks. One is a coke, the other a glass of wine. Wanna guess which one I ordered? With a casual sip of my drink, I break the silence. "Do you ever wonder what it would be like if our gangs worked together?"

Lexi's eyebrows shoot up in surprise, his gaze meeting mine with a mixture of curiosity and intrigue. "Working together?" he repeats, as if testing out the idea in his mind. "Yeah, think about it," I continue. "Imagine what we could accomplish if we combined forces. We could expand our operations, increase our profits... It could be the start of something big, Lexi." He considers my words for a moment, his expression thoughtful. "It's an interesting proposition. If your gang didn't kidnap one of our members and sent you to spy on us, they would probably consider it."

"Well, it's not like your gang has been so nice to us either," I countered, my tone tinged with frustration. "Maybe if both sides were willing to let go of the past, we could actually make this work. We'd be unstoppable." Lexi's lips curve into a faint smile, a hint of admiration glimmering in his eyes. "I love your determination, really. But my father and his best men would never agree to that. They are too selfish." Despite my hopes, the reality of our situation crashes down on me. "Perhaps in another life." Alexandro says softly.

As our conversation drifts to other topics, the waiter finally arrives with our food. Placing the plates in front of us, he gives us a friendly smile before disappearing back into the bustling restaurant. The scent of grilled meat and melted cheese fills the air. Lexi eyes his burger skeptically. "It looks... interesting," He says with uncertainty. I tell him to just give it a try. I can't help but chuckle when he uses a knife to cut the cheese burger. I wait for his reaction as he takes his first bite. When his eyes widen in surprise, I feel a surge of satisfaction.

"This is truly amazing." He exclaims, his face lighting up. He quickly tries the fries and I feel like I'm watching a little kid going to Mac Donald's. I smile at the sight of his enthusiasm. "See, I told you you'd like it." I reply smugly while I start eating my own food. Between bites, Lexi and I continue to chat, our conversation flowing easily as we enjoy our meal together. When we finish, we pay our bill and head outside. We stand on the corner of the street for a moment. Neither of us wants this great day to end, but we have to go different directions.

Alexandro looks down at me, smiling softly. I can see why he's so popular among the girls from the Emerald Empire. His gaze is almost hypnotic. I can't seem to look away from his deep green eyes. "I had a really nice time tonight," he says. "Me too," I whisper back. We both lean forward, our lips meeting softly at first. The tension between us breaks as our kissing intensifies. Not much later, I'm pressed up against him, our bodies flushed and hot. The passion keeps building up, and we're both breathing hard. It's like we're in our own world, disconnected from everything else. I can only focus on his sweet scent and the taste of his lips. I can't get enough of him.

He pulls away from the kiss, while I'm still disoriented from the intensity of it. Our breaths are shallow, our legs shaky. "Text me when you're home, okay?" Alexandro whispers in my ear. I nod firmly. We exchange one last smile before we go our separate ways. I can't wait to text him once I'm home.
