(Lucas' POV)

Fuck, I'm really late for this meeting. 

The thought echoes in my mind as I rush down the crowded streets. I check the time on my phone for what feels like the hundredth time, cursing under my breath as I realize just how late I am. The meeting was supposed to start twenty minutes ago. My boss had texted me, asking me if I could attent at a meeting. I had asked her what it was about, but she wouldn't tell me. I hope it isn't too important.

As I round the corner and catch sight of the familiar building, relief washes over me. I'm almost there, just a few more blocks to go. I push myself to go even faster. I've been late a dozen times before, but I'm usually only two minutes too late. Finally, I reach the door of the private room and burst inside, my chest heaving as I struggle to catch my breath. I am surprised by the presence of three people. My boss obviously, someone who looks like an older version of Lexi and Lexi himself. "Alexandro? What are you doing here?" I ask, my confusion evident in my voice as I take in the unexpected sight before me.

What could possibly be going on here? Could this be about our gangs? Or perhaps it's something entirely unrelated, something I couldn't even begin to imagine. As I wait for an explanation, I look around at the room. It's completely filled with decorations like balloons. I'm getting very confused, but also there's cake. "What flavor?" I notice the cake has a word spelled out in frosting: Surprise. My boss steps forward with a smile, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Surprise, Lucas!" she exclaims, her tone filled with excitement. "We have some news to share with you, and we wanted to do it in style."

I exchange a puzzled glance with Lexi, who shrugs at me. "Well actually, this is all her idea. She forced me to buy everything, including the chocolate cake. Your favorite, right?" He smiles while he motions for me to sit down. I take a seat, still trying to process everything. Whatever news awaits me, I know that I'll face it with cake. Oh my god, I'm so happy that Lexi remembered. I want to take a slice, but my boss puts a contract under my nose instead. My eyes widen in surprise as I glance down at the document. It's the contract between Lexi and my boss, outlining the terms of the alliance between our gangs. The realization hits me like a ton of bricks, filling me with a mixture of shock and excitement.

This is it, the moment we've been working towards. I had begged my boss to negotiate with Lorenzo, but she denied it every time. She wanted the Emerald Empire to come to us instead. Once they put the effort into an alliance, we would all gladly accept. The older version of Lexi has already signed the papers as a witness of this important moment. I reach for a pen, my heart pounding in my chest as I prepare to sign my name on the dotted line. Now, the deal is officially sealed. The weight of what we've accomplished begins to sink in. 

I won't have to hide my love for Lexi anymore. I can already picture the missions we'll embark on together with Rosa, facing whatever challenges may come our way. We'll make the most badass team ever. And as I steal a glance at Lexi, his eyes shining with pride, I know that this is only the beginning. Our journey together is just getting started, and I can't wait to see where it leads us.
