Hi! I had an idea pop into my head of how Callie got connected to the Fosters. I couldn't get it out of my head so I am going to see if I can turn it into a story! Also, a bit of a Stef and Lena story because I love their relationship. I have never seen this scenario before in the fanfictions I have read, so thought I would give it a try. Also, Jude doesn't exist in this. I am still writing my other stories, don't worry. Thanks for reading!

Chapter 1

Stef's POV:

I am walking into work on Monday morning, and am feeling really tired. I got here 30 minutes early, hoping to be able to leave 30 minutes early. I have to take Mariana to the dentist right after work because Lena has a meeting. Work has been pretty busy lately. I have a new rookie who is just 18 years old training with me. We have been working together for three weeks and this week is her fourth and final week of training, before getting paired up with her long-term partner. Her name is Daisy. She is very kind, strong and funny. She actually reminds me of myself as a teenager. I feel protective of her and am really enjoying our time together. We formed an instant connection. Lena was worried about her being my partner during training as she is so green, but it has worked out really well and she has learned everything very quickly.

I get to my desk and see a young girl sitting at the desk next to mine, scrolling through her phone. She is at the desk Daisy is currently using.

"Hi there, what's your name?" I say sitting down, smiling at the girl. She has to be about 13. She looks up quickly, a little nervous.

"Uh hi, Callie." She says softly. I smile at her as she forces herself to make eye contact for a split second. I can tell she is anxious to be here. Her foot is bouncing up and down, she won't make direct eye contact with me and she keeps looking around the room waiting for something.

"Is there anything I can do to help you, Callie?" She just shakes her head no, and keeps looking around.

"Are you waiting for someone?" I ask. She nods.

"Who?" I push a little more.

"Daisy." She mumbles.

"How do you know Daisy?" I ask curiously.

"She is my foster mom." She says softly. Foster Mom? Daisy is 18? About to turn 19, but still. That is so young. How is she a foster parent? She never mentioned that to me in the three weeks we have been together. That feels like important information.

"Hey Cal, you ready?" Daisy walks up approaching her. Callie jumps to her feet and instantly goes to Daisy's side, very ready to leave the precinct.

"Hey Stef, you are here early." Daisy says, smiling at me. I smile back.

"Hey Dais, I could say the same."

"Yes, I just had to come talk to Captain for a minute this morning. Stef, this is Callie, Callie this is Stef."

"Yes, we met." I say winking at Callie, she looks like she is trying to smile, but a small grimace forms on her face. I see Daisy softly chuckle and I look up at her questioningly.

"Callie is not used to being around this many police officers." Daisy says as she wraps her arm around Callie. Callie rolls her eyes playfully and has a small smile, looking up at Daisy. It was sweet, you can tell they have a nice bond.

"Stef is one of the good ones, I promise," she winks at Callie. I smile at them. "Well, I do have to drop Callie off somewhere. So, I will be back in about 20 minutes. See you soon, Stef!"

"Bye guys! It was nice meeting you Cal." She looks at me a little suspicious.

"You too, Stef." She waves, and turns around as I watch them walk out.
