Val bought whatever she wanted, and we continued walking around, browsing through more shops but not buying anything. Eventually, we decided to head to McDonald's since I was exhausted, and Val was hungry.

We ordered our food and sat down, waiting for it to come.

"I'm starving! Why is it taking forever?" Val exclaimed eagerly.

"Come on, don't act like a kid," Jersey chided, teasing her.

"Shush, you grandpa," Val retorted playfully.

The food arrived, and Val immediately dug in. I couldn't help but laugh at the sight.

"Are we going anywhere after eating?" I asked.

"I'm not sure," she replied. "I'll probably be too sleepy to walk anywhere after eating. And Jersey seems like he's had enough of us for today."

She wiggled her eyebrows mischievously.

"Right, grandpa? Are you tired yet?"

"Yeah, man, I'm tired of babysitting."

Val playfully slapped his shoulder, pretending to be offended.

"Let's just chill here for a bit, enjoy our food, and see where the day takes us." He said.

Surprisingly, that little chill session lasted an hour and a half. We had a great time sitting, eating, chatting, and even getting some rest. I mean, Val looked like she was nodding off towards the end, so we figured it was time to head out.

"Damn, we sat for so long, my back hurts," Jersey complained.

I leaned closer to Val and whispered in her ear, "I guess he meant his ass."(he has a big ass) We both giggled and playfully pushed each other, unable to contain our laughter.

"What?" Jersey asked, confused.

I shook my head, trying to stifle my laughter. "Nothing, grandpa," I said with a grin.

As we headed back to the subway, we chatted about how much fun we had today and agreed that we should do it more often. We also looked back at the pictures and selfies we took earlier.

Jersey said goodbye at his stop and left.
It was just me and Val. She rested her head on my shoulder until we arrived at our stop.

We walked together and stopped by the tree. We didn't talk much like we usually did because we were tired, so we parted ways.

She pulled me into a hug.
"It was really fun today. Thanks for coming. Take care," she said warmly.

I hugged her back. "Yeah, it was. Text me when you get home," I replied.

We waved goodbye as we went our separate ways.

As I stepped into the house, I faced my father. He raised an eyebrow, and there was a few seconds of tense silence.

"Hello, father," I said, mockingly irritated.

"Where were you?" he asked, his tone serious and harsh.

"I went shopping with a friend," I replied.

"Which one?" he asked, not believing me.

"You don't know her. Her name is Val," I said, avoiding any mention of Jersey, knowing I wasn't allowed to go out with boys.

"Why so late?" he pressed.

I couldn't help but retort, "Maybe because I was enjoying myself for once? Can't you see I need some fun and happy moments in my life? And I'm 15 already," I said, walking up the stairs to my door, avoiding any other conversation he was about to begin.

I entered my room and tossed my bag onto the floor. After changing into more comfortable clothes, I flopped onto my bed. Grabbing my phone, I opened a few messages and noticed that Val had created a group chat with the three of us. Now I had Jersey's phone number. They had sent the pictures from today, so I scrolled through them, laughing at some silly videos of myself being loud. I also shared the pictures we took together.

After exchanging a few texts, we said our good nights. I watched a few TikToks before deciding to call it a night and go to sleep.
