You were at the girls' practice room as you had the day off. You and Jihyo sneaked off to the pantry for some alone time, but when you read the time on the clock mounted on the wall, you got up in a hurry, "I got to go, I have an apartment viewing."
"Wait," Jihyo held you back, "what apartment viewing? Are you moving?"
You scratched the back of your neck, something you do when you're anxious, "yeah, my lease is up next month, so I have to find a new place."
"What? Why didn't you tell me?" Jihyo asked with wide eyes.
"I didn't think there was a need to," You shrugged.
"Baby, you're my girlfriend! Were you going to tell me after you've moved?!"
"Why is this such a big deal? I'm just moving to another apartment, not to another country!"
"Because I could've helped you! I can help you!"
"What do you mean?"
"Do you remember I have an apartment I bought for investment? We can move in together!"
You sat back down, purely out of shock and surprise. "You want us to move in together?"
"Yeah, why not? You need a new apartment and I've been wanting to move out for a while now," Jihyo held your hands, her eyes glistening.
Jihyo didn't realise your smile had faded. Your shoulders slumped and you let out a sad smile.
"So you just want us to move in together because it'll make things easier?"
"I could make your rent cheaper too, isn't that better than finding another apartment? The lease is crazy these days."
"Thanks, but I'm going to be late for my apartment viewing." You pulled your hands back and left the pantry, leaving a confused Jihyo behind.
Right after you left, Mina came in to get a glass of water, and while doing that, she noticed an upset Jihyo on the chair.
"What's wrong?"
"Women are confusing, Mina, that's what's wrong!" Jihyo stomped out of the pantry and back to the practice room.
"You're one to talk..." Mina muttered under her breath and followed the leader closely.
"Back to practice, girls!" Jihyo clapped her hands, and sensing the leader's annoyance and your absence, the girls didn't dare to whine and ask for a few more minutes.
—
You opened the door to your apartment and found Jihyo sitting on the couch flipping through a magazine. She tossed it away when you closed the door behind you.
"Hey, baby, what are you doing here?" You asked, putting down your bag by the door. You really weren't in the mood to quarrel with Jihyo.
"I just want to know why you left like that earlier."
You sighed. You figured Jihyo wouldn't let it go if you just brush it off.
"I... I don't want us to move in together out of convenience, okay? I want us to move in together because you want to build a life with me and you want to live with me."
"Baby, I do want to live with you! So much. But you didn't even tell me about looking for a new apartment in the first place, so I assumed you weren't ready for us to move in together. I didn't want to pressure you so I said those things about being easier and convenient and stuff."
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I thought it'd be too soon and I didn't want to scare you away if I proposed living together."
"So do you want to live with me? Share drawers and stuff?" Jihyo bit her lower lip, nervous at what your answer might be.
"I think I do," You quickly shook your head and corrected, "I know I do."
"Good." Jihyo kissed you and gently rested her forehead against yours.
"So do I still pay rent if we live together in your apartment?" You grinned.
"Well, other than cash, I do take rent in other forms." Jihyo raised a brow and you smacked her in the stomach. Jihyo caught your hand, "I'm just kidding. Whatever you're comfortable with, we'll do that. Pay rent or not, I don't care. I only care about us building a life together, finally."
You pulled Jihyo into a bone crushing hug, "I love you, Park Jihyo. You're the most amazing woman I've ever met and I'm so lucky you're mine."
Jihyo pulled away and placed a chaste kiss on your lips, "c'mon, let's start packing."
