do you want to date me?

You plopped down onto the couch while Jihyo poured a glass of water for you.

"That was a nice dinner," Jihyo kissed you on your cheek. "But do you remember our first Valentine's Day last year?"

The two of you laughed as you recalled a year ago, today.

[FLASHBACK]

You and Jihyo had been dating for a few months now and things were going great. Jihyo still weren't ready to reveal your relationship to the public as she felt it might be too soon. You were okay with it, but you were also worried about whether Jihyo was sincere.

When Valentine's Day rolled around, Jihyo called you that morning to ask you about the plan for the day and that she was free the entire evening.

"What do you mean you made plans with your friends? It's Valentine's Day! By default, we should be having a dinner date!"

"Yeah, sorry about that. Me and a few besties from college decided to have a galentine's day this year. I'm sure Jeongyeon could keep you company tonight. I'll see you tomorrow."

"What?! I am not celebrating Valentine's Day with Yoo Jeongyeon!"

Jihyo ended the call and tossed her phone on her bed. She couldn't believe you decided to spend the most romantic day of the year with your friends instead of her. 

When evening came, Jihyo was still frustrated and upset that she couldn't spend the day with you. She was getting paranoid, too. You had been nothing but sweet to her throughout these few months but every time you were on a date in public, Jihyo was always more cautious about getting caught by paparazzis, thus neglecting you sometimes.

After letting the voice in her head get to her, Jihyo changed and decided to show up at your place to confront you.

Jihyo pounded on your door and as soon as you opened the door, Jihyo barged in.

"Where is she?!" Jihyo checked all the rooms for any woman that you might have hid in your apartment.

"What are you talking about?" You frowned.

"I knew you weren't celebrating galentine's day with your besties! You're cheating on me so where is she?! If you don't want to date me anymore just tell me!" Tears were swelling in Jihyo's eyes.

"Jihyo, please calm down."

"Do you want to date me or not?!"

"I'll think about it."

Seeing Jihyo almost lose her mind, you decided to stop playing with her and quickly pulled her into your embrace.

You pulled away and wiped Jihyo's tears, laughing at your girlfriend's pout, you said, "I wanted to see if you'd come here and lash out on me,"

"What do you mean?" Jihyo asked in her nasally voice.

"I wanted to know if you were serious about me. If you took the risk to come here and confront me or act crazy, then I know you're serious about this."

"Do you know how serious I am about our relationship now? I'm crazy about you, is that so hard to believe?"

"I know, I know. I'm sorry." You pulled Jihyo into your embrace again. Jihyo hugged you so tight you thought your bones might break.

"So do you still want to date me or not?!"

"Maybe."

Jihyo smacked you in the back causing you to wince, but you laughed and brushed her hair softly. "Of course I want to date you, Park Jihyo."

[END OF FLASHBACK]

"You put me through that even though I pursued you for weeks?" Jihyo snuggled up to you, making herself comfortable against your side.

"And you thought I was cheating on you!" You laughed in disbelief.

"I was so insecure and sensitive when it comes to you," Jihyo shrugged.

After a few moments of silence, Jihyo spoke up, "so even though it's been a year, do you still want to date me?" Jihyo asked with a playful smile.

"Maybe." You placed a chaste kiss on Jihyo's lips before you got up with Jihyo chasing after you into the bedroom.
