"Baby, you're being awfully quiet. Did I do something? Did my friends say something that offended you? Are you tired?" You looked at Jihyo for a split second, your free hand never leaving her thigh. You understand Jihyo and the girls have been practicing for their upcoming album, but Jihyo assured you she'd like to meet your friends over dinner.

You'd like to think that the dinner went well. Your friends got to know Jihyo as more than just an idol, and Jihyo got to know your closest friends in your life. Your ride or die, as you often told her.

But with Jihyo being quiet, you wondered if your friends or you did anything to offend Jihyo.

Jihyo continued to look out the window, so you gave her thigh a gentle squeeze. She looked back at you with her big doe eyes.

You were surprised at Jihyo's worried eyes.

Finally, Jihyo spoke, "it's just when you introduced me to your friends, you called me your current girlfriend. And they laughed."

You wanted to smack yourself across the face, because you'd completely forgotten to explain it to Jihyo. You felt so guilty that Jihyo was feeling like shit the entire evening and you hadn't noticed it one bit.

"Baby, first of all, that current girlfriend thing is an inside joke from college. It meant absolutely nothing other than just us being fools. Back in college, we looked at other people even if we were dating someone. But those people were usually out of our leagues. So we started calling the people we were dating our current boyfriend or girlfriend, and if we get to have a second or third partner, it'd be someone that we idolize." You explained, hoping that Jihyo won't take this stupid joke to heart. "I guess we still call our partners our current partners out of habit."

"So you don't want a second girlfriend?" Jihyo asked, a playful smile playing on her lips after knowing that it was just some stupid college joke.

"Well," you'd be lying if you said you didn't.

Jihyo smacked the back of your hand that was on her thigh. However, she grabbed your hand and intertwined your fingers together with hers.

"So? Who would you want to be your second girlfriend?"

"Is this a trick question?" You eyed Jihyo suspiciously.

"It's not. I want to know if there's anyone who caught your eyes."

"Well, in that case... I would have to choose Irene from Red Velvet."

Jihyo sighed, as if admitting defeat. "Irene sunbaenim is indeed one hell of a woman, if I do say so myself." Jihyo shrugged then looked at you with hearts in her eyes. "For the record, you'd totally get Irene sunbaenim. You're wonderful and an amazing woman. I lucked out."

"You know what? I kind of agree with you." You teased your current girlfriend, "but, I only want you."

Jihyo placed a kiss on your intertwined fingers. "I love you."

"I love you too, my current girlfriend."
