Jihyo had left you with her two sisters to socialize and get to know each other while she helped out her parents in the kitchen.

When Jihyo introduced you to her family, they were very welcoming. Her sisters greeted you with wide smiles and warm hugs.

You thought it would be a good chance for Jiyoung and Seoyeon to ask you anything they want as you told them you'd be transparent with them. It would be a good chance to bond with them, too.

However, as soon as Jihyo was out of earshot, the sisters had a serious face on, which made the atmosphere tense. You thought they were completely different people.

"I'll be straight forward and start the protective siblings speech." Jiyoung started.

You should have seen this coming, you heard a lot from your friends about this protective parents or siblings speech, but you never experienced it.

"Should I be worried?" You smiled, trying to make the atmosphere lighter.

"We don't think you're good enough for our Jihyo unnie."

"What?" You blinked a few times, hoping that you heard them wrong.

"Jihyo unnie is in a nation girl group. She's famous and she's at the peak of her career. She can do so much more if she doesn't have someone holding her back. You're an amazing person, but we hope you can let Jihyo unnie go."

"Jiyoung unnie's right. If you really love her, you won't hold her back, right? We trust that you'd make the right decision." Seoyeon chimed in and you were completely taken aback.

You took a minute, because you haven't thought about this before. To be honest, you still can't believe you're dating Jihyo, a world star who's meant to achieve big things. What if her sisters are right? What if someday Jihyo wants to do something but because of you, she couldn't? You didn't say anything back and stood up to look for Jihyo.

"Baby, can I talk to you for a minute?" You asked softly, Jihyo took one look at you and knew something was wrong.

Jihyo led you to the balcony. "Hey, what's going on?"

"I think I won't stay for dinner. Help me thank your parents for inviting me today."

"No no no, hey, what's really going on? No running away, remember?"

"I'm not feeling so good." You lied, and knew you shouldn't have.

"Baby, please don't lie to me."

"Just enjoy the dinner tonight, okay? Your parents put in a lot of effort. We can talk tomorrow."

"I'm not letting you go until you tell me what's going on. Did my sisters do something? I'll scold them, just tell me what they did." Jihyo knew her sisters are protective of her, but to think that they did something to upset the person she loves? Jihyo couldn't sit back and let you go.

You sighed, "they don't think I'm good enough for you. And maybe they're right."

Jihyo laughed and licked her lips, "babe, they're my baby sisters, of course they don't think you're good enough for me. They don't think anyone's good enough for me. But I'm here to tell you that you're good enough for me, okay? Maybe even too good, if I say so myself." Jihyo laughed.

"But what if they're right? That maybe I'm holding you back? What if you could achieve bigger things but it's because of me you couldn't? I don't want to be responsible for that, Jihyo. I don't want you to resent me."

"So you're just going to make that decision for us? Decide that you're not good enough for me and break up with me? Even if I say you're more than enough for me?"
