I sat on top of the table in the middle with my legs crossed whilst reading a book as someone came into the room.
"People have to eat on that you know." Damon's voice spoke. I looked up.
"You never used to mind."
"Yeah, well now I've grown up."
"It only took you a hundred years." I mumbled to myself.
"Tilly. I'm a vampire. I can hear your every word."
"That's why I said it." I sang, looking back at my book. He got a carton of juice from the fridge before pouring it out into a cup. He put the juice back and shut the fridge.
"I expect you're going to the Mikaelson Ball." Damon started.
Once again, I stared up at him. "And why would I be doing that?" I asked.
"Because you need to socialise and plus, your Mr lover boy is going."
I raised my eyebrows. "My Mr lover boy?"
"Otherwise known as the vampire hunter. Little gilbert. Or most commonly, Jeremy."
I stayed silent for a while before speaking. "There's nothing going on between us."
"Oh come on Tilly. I can tell when you're lying. And you make it really obvious."
"I do not!" I exclaimed causing Damon to smirk.
"Why are you getting defensive? Because you know I'm right?"
I hopped off the table and walked up to him. "I'm not going to that ball. Not whilst Klaus is there, and as it's his ball there's no escaping him."
"So your mission to kill him didn't succeed, huh?"
"Klaus' words got in the way..." I trailed. Damon nodded his head as I hesitated to continue speaking. He noticed.
"You want to tell me something." he stated.
I twiddled my fingers around making Damon sigh. "You're doing that thing again."
"What thing?" I asked.
"The thing you do when you're either scared, nervous, or unsure." He looked towards my hands making me stop. "I may be an inconsiderate douchebag sometimes but I won't judge you. You're my dau-" He suddenly stopped himself. "What's wrong?"
"Can I ask you a question?" I questioned.
"Anything."
"Have you ever met my parents before? Like, my real ones?"
"I found you next to an abandoned street near the highway."
"I know but they didn't leave anything? No note? Phone number?"
"Why do you all of a sudden want to know so much about them?" Damon interrupted.
"I just guess curiosity's getting the better of me." I shrugged.
"Why don't I believe you?"
I looked down at my feet. "So you don't know a name?" I mumbled.
Damon frowned, holding onto my arm. "I'm sorry. I didn't know you felt this way."
I looked up at him. "Who doesn't want to know their real parents? All I had was..."
"Me." he whispered.
I nodded. "Yeah."
Elena soon walked into the room. "Hey." she greeted.
Damon turned away from me and walked over to the counter looking upset. There was tension in the air.
