Tomorrow was the day I was finally going home and I was over the moon. I was in my room, packing up my things when Enzo walked in.

"I could have been getting dressed." I groaned in annoyance.

"Still the joy for me."

I rolled my eyes at his lousy comment. All of a sudden, I stopped what I was doing and furrowed my eyebrows. "What's that?" I asked.

"Come and have a look." Enzo answered, strolling off back into the main room. I followed shortly after and my eyes widened at the site.

"Matt?" I gasped.

"Hey Tilly. Haven't seen you in a while."

I then turned to Caroline with  worried expression plastered on my face. "What is he doing here?" I exclaimed. "Do you have any idea what I could do to him? Bad things."

Matt then walked up to me as I stepped back.  "I think you should go." I spoke, avoiding eye contact.

"Why? Can't we just do some bonding?"

"You hate me."

"Yeah, but I have a heart and I feel sympathy for you. No one should have to go through this."

I finally rested my gaze on Matt and took a deep breath. "Ok." I whispered.

"I made dinner for all ten of us." Caroline smiled happily. My head turned to face her.

"Ten of us? Don't you mean five?"

"Nope. Me, you, Bonnie, Elena, Stefan, Damon, Matt, Enzo, Alaric and Jeremy."

"No. No, no, no, no, no. There is no way in hell I am attending this dinner. I know for sure that something bad will happen and-"

"You coped for a full month without the urge to feast so you can do it tonight. And look, Matt's been here for  minutes and he isn't even dead."

"Yet..." I spoke. Matt looked uncomfortable.

"Everything will be fine." Stefan comforted. "They'll be here soon. Don't be nervous. Ok?"

I nodded before walking over and sitting on the sofa. Enzo sat down next to me with a glass of bourbon.

"You're already doing a great job." he told me.

"He says before the blood lust kicks in." I replied. Enzo just chuckled and took a swig of his drink.

"I have a feeling it's not only the blood sucking you're worried about."

I looked at him before bowing my head in shame. "I can't bare to see Jeremy. I haven't spoken to him until the day I got him and things are going to be so awkward now we're not together anymore. But the thing is, I don't think I'll ever love someone as much as I loved him. Have I made a mistake?"

Enzo shook his head in disagreement. "Not at all, love. In fact, this may be your best decision yet."

"You're only saying that because you hate Jeremy and couldn't stand seeing him with a girl he actually cares for."

"No. I'm saying it because I can't stand to see him with-"

He stopped himself mid sentence as he stared at me. I waited for him to continue.

"Can't stand seeing him with who?" I whispered.

He looked like he was trying to get the words out but couldn't as his eye contact stayed put with mine.

The door soon opened to reveal everyone entering the cottage.

"You made it!" Caroline cheered.

"Time to meet the guests." Enzo said before standing up and walking away to greet the others however I couldn't bring myself to move. I didn't want to put anyone's life in danger. I soon felt the sofa sink next to me.
