CHAPTER THIRTY EIGHT
____________________________
Three days ago...
Everyone noticed the slight change in Chan's sudden appearance and responses. The blonde was always so happy and smiling but these past days it has nothing but an upset Chan. The blonde began to sit alone in school.

Students figured that it had something to do with Seungmin. Although the younger seemed occupied with things, he tried his best give answers to his hyung but in this case that's not what the blonde was worried about.

Sure seungmin stopped hanging out and gave short answers to him but he knew that the younger still had a life outside of school and he respected it. Chan was worried about his own life. The blonde had gone and performed because of his music dream.

"Hyung?" Chan looked up and saw the other blonde. It was Felix and had a worry face. "Oh hey lix." Felix took a seat beside him and look ahead.

"You look sad hyung. Do you have anything bothering you?" Chan smiles and shakes his head but the other didn't believe him. "Although im younger than you, you can still tell me your worries. I'm all ears."

Chan let a small laugh at the other's words. "No need to act tough when something isn't right. It's better than keeping it all to yourself." Chan knew the other male was being genuine after all Felix was the sweetheart of school.

Felix was always helping everyone whether it's match making, tutoring or anything really. He wouldn't back down for anything and people often spoke to him about their own personal issues to him.

"I suppose im not really excited for college.." The blonde was slightly confused and it was because he always saw the older do his hardest to maintain his grades at top.

"why so? I seen you always be at top of school. Seniors are always excited about college and even you. You been doing extra things to go to the best school Seoul University." Chan smiles a bit.

"yeah, I suppose I was once when I was younger but now that it's finally here. I don't find it as exciting as I thought before. I'm mainly doing it for my parents.." the other blonde's heart sank, of course it was the parents. Parents always have expectations about their kids. Even Felix's but it was rather one parent then two.

"Is that so? What do they want you to study?" Felix softly says. "They want me to be a lawyer or a doctor. They said it was my pick between those two." Of course parents always pick the most exhausting major.

"and what do you want to major in?" Chan looked at Felix and smiled. "Music." The freckled male smlies brightly. "Why can't you follow your heart then? I'm sure you'll do great in music. Your parents already lived their life. It's not fair to you to live your life as they want."

Chan's smiles drops. "I can't. I caused them so much trouble when growing up and I feel like I owe it to them." Felix suddenly remembers what Seungmin had told. Chan was coda after all and it made it harder.

"My parents are non hearing. I was born coda and because of that my voice is the only thing that connects with the outside world." Felix thought that with no hearing parents made it easier because they probably would want their child to go with their dreams.

"why do you feel like you own it to them?" Felix looked at older and saw sadness written on it. "when growing up coda, I caused trouble like no other kid wanting to have fun at all times but I didn't know my actions would make it hard for my parents. After all people always looked down on my parents because they have a disability.

I saw them curse at my parents. I had to translate for my parents and I didn't have the heart to repeat the harsh words. I saw them have a hard time because of it and I know that if they had a wish they would choose to be hearing. I saw my parents hurt and like no other child they would like to make their parents proud of them. To tell them that after all their hardships were worth it."

Chan sighed. "They have too much to endure already. The last thing they need is more disappointment from their son." Felix always knew the older by smiling all the time and to see that the older was actually hurting deeply was odd to him.

"Hyung, I might not have parents non hearing but if you just speak to them. I don't think they'll go against you, every parent should be understanding and let their child do the thing they want. A already planned life isn't a happy life. As time goes on the more unhappy you will feel."

Chan looked at the other. "There's no harm in trying hyung. Speak up and say what you're actually feeling make them understand your feelings." Felix gave the older a comforting smile.

Chan smiled back and shed tears. He looked down in embarrassment and laughs a bit. "this is embarrassing..." Felix shakes his head and pats Chan's back. "It's okay to cry, it better to cry then not."

"Thank you lix...you're right it does feel good to let it out." Chan wiped his tears away. "No problem hyung."

Seungmin was home, he had explained to his friends what had happened and hyunjin was checking up on him each hour. His father had went on a business trip and was left with the three males.

Minho, Jisung and Ricky.

"okay I just finished setting up the cameras." Jisung added as he dusted himself off and coming back to the bed. "Do you think he won't notice?" Seungmin asks unsure of the cameras.

"Your father can't see a fly so I doubt he will notice the cameras." Minho smiles and assures the younger. "Enough talking about the cameras. So about that hyunjin kid do you like him?"

Seungmin flushed bright red and shakes his head. "Of course not, he's just my friend that's all." Ricky frowned. "So not true. You two seemed lovey dovey together all these past weeks. It's obvious" Minho says as he scoffs.

"believe what you want. How about you and Jisung?! Y'all are fruity as fuck!" Jisung blushed and smacks the younger. "the difference is that we're already dating and you aren't with hyunjin."
