It had been several days since the black magic incident, and Sundari was beginning to feel more like herself. She was still wary of Rudransh, but she couldn't deny the growing warmth she felt whenever he was near. He had been nothing but kind and attentive, and his declaration of love echoed in her mind constantly.
Rudransh approached her with a smile. "Sundari, how about we go out today?"
She looked up from the book she was reading, surprised. "Go out? Where?"
"I promised you a horse, didn't I?" he said, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Let's go find one that you like."
Sundari's face lit up with excitement. "Really? You're serious?"
"Absolutely," he replied, extending his hand to her. "Come on, let's go."
Sundari grabbed his hand and they began to walk away. She felt a rush of happiness and joy.
The journey to the stables was filled with light-hearted banter. Rudransh walked beside Sundari, occasionally making playful comments that made her laugh. She felt the tension between them easing, replaced by comfortable camaraderie.
"You know," Rudransh said, nudging her lightly, "I think we should find a horse that matches your personality."
Sundari raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And what kind of horse would that be?"
"Something spirited and fun," he said with a grin. "Just like you."
She blushed, playfully swatting his arm. "Flattery will get you nowhere, Rudransh."
He chuckled, enjoying the sight of her smiling. "Maybe, but it's true."
As they continued walking, Rudransh pointed out various landmarks and shared stories from his childhood. Sundari found herself laughing more than she had in a long time, feeling a sense of freedom and joy she hadn't felt before.
Finally, they arrived at the stables, a large and well-kept building surrounded by lush fields. The smell of hay and the sounds of horses greeted them as they entered. The stable master, a burly man named Jatin, greeted them with a warm smile.
"Your Highness, Lady Sundari," he said with a respectful bow. "What can I do for you today?"
"We're here to find a horse for the Lady," Rudransh explained. "Something that suits her...and safe."
Jatin nodded and led them to a section of the stables where several horses were being kept. Sundari's eyes widened in awe as she looked at the beautiful animals. She walked among them, feeling their smooth coats and looking into their intelligent eyes.
"This one is lovely," Sundari said, stopping in front of a chestnut mare with a white blaze on its forehead.
"Ah, that's Zara," Jatin said with a smile. "She's a gentle but strong mare. Perfect for a lady."
Sundari stroked Zara's neck, feeling an immediate connection. "I like her," she said softly, looking back at Rudransh. Rudransh nodded, a satisfied expression on his face. Sundari smiled and continued petting Zara's neck. She felt a peacefulness come over her, and she knew it was the right choice.
"Then Zara it is," Rudransh agreed, his heart swelling with happiness at the sight of Sundari's joy. "Shall we take her for a ride?"
"Yes, please," Sundari replied eagerly.
With Jatin's help, Sundari mounted Zara. Rudransh stood beside her, ready to assist. "Do you need any help?" he asked, a teasing note in his voice.
"I think I can manage," Sundari replied confidently, but soon released she needed help getting on. Rudransh quickly jumped in to help, lifting her onto the horse. He stepped back, a broad grin on his face. Sundari smiled sheepishly and said, "Thanks, but I was just going to do that." As she settled into the saddle, she felt a bit unsteady.
