Simba groaned, "Do we really have to sneak out tonight? I'm so tired. Can't we just do it tomorrow?"
Sundari rolled her eyes, "Oh, stop whining, Simba. We can't wait another day. We've been planning this for weeks, and tonight's the night."
Radha chimed in, "Yeah, and besides, we all know you're not really that tired. You just don't want to get caught."
Simba pouted and muttered, "Fine, fine. Let's go then."
Sundari quickly urged everyone to get ready as she needed to be in Raivati's room shortly to help her get ready for her wedding. She explained the plan to Radha and Simba, "Once the wedding is done, we all need to meet by the old oak tree. From there, we'll sneak out and make our escape."
Simba nodded, "Got it. I can't wait to get out of here."
Sundari quickly put on a beautiful dark green sari and grabbed her bag. She checked her hair in the mirror one last time before heading out to meet Raivati.
When she entered Raivati's room, she saw Raivati sitting on the bed with her bridal outfit next to her. "Raivati, you look beautiful." Sundari said.
Raivati sighed, "Thanks, Sundari. But I'm worried. I still haven't bought the clothes for you and Radha. I don't know how we'll make it happen."
Sundari asked, "Why haven't you bought our clothes yet? Don't worry, we'll figure something out."
Raivati dismissed all the maids in the room and told them to leave. All the maids left, leaving only Raivati and Sundari alone in the room. "Sundari, I haven't bought the clothes yet because I want to give you something special. I know it's not much, but I want to give you the sari my mother wore on her wedding day."
Sundari was touched, "Raivati, that's so sweet of you. I don't know what to say."
Raivati smiled, "You don't have to say anything. Just promise me that you'll wear it on your wedding day, whenever that may be."
Sundari hugged Raivati and promised her that she would keep the sari safe and wear it on her wedding day. "Thank you, Raivati. you didn't have to."
Sundari noticed that Raivati was sitting quietly and looking sad. She asked, "Raivati, is everything okay? You seem upset."
Raivati nodded weakly and replied, "I'm fine. It's just a little overwhelming, you know?"
Sundari knew something was definitely wrong, but she decided not to push Raivati. Instead, she said, "Okay, let's hurry up and get you ready. The wedding is going to start in a few hours."
Raivati quickly got her bridal scarf and put it over her head. She looked at herself in the mirror and said, "Wow, I look so pretty."
Sundari was confused. She said, "Raivati, it doesn't matter how beautiful I look. Today is not about me. It's about you, your wedding."
Raivati's face fell. She looked at Sundari and thought, "Sundari, I love Rudransh. But I promised him that I would help him marry you. I don't know what to do."
Raivati started to cry. She said, "I don't know what to do, Sundari. I can't marry Rudransh anymore. I just can't. But if I don't show up to the wedding, my father and my entire family will be shamed. And Rudransh has already gone through the marriage prayers. Once the prayers happen, he'll have to get married to someone else if I don't show up."
Sundari was in shock. She couldn't believe what was happening. She said, "Raivati, you can't do this. You can't... It's..."
Raivati wiped her tears and said, "I know, Sundari. I just don't know what to do. I don't want Rudransh to get married to some random girl. And I don't want to cause shame to my family. What am I supposed to do?"
