Jake pulled down his cloth after completing his practice, as he was leaving the tent and going to the bathrooms he was stopped by someone grabbing his hand, he looked around to see Tom, Jake was surprised to see him.

Jake:Tom?

Tom:Is something wrong? I mean did i do something wrong?

Jake:What are you talking about?

Tom:I just noticed how you've been avoiding me and look uncomfortable when i'm near you, i feel like i did something wrong and i wanted to apologize if i made you upset.

Jake:What! No no don't worry you didn't do anything wrong!

Tom:Are you sure i didn't make you angry?

Jake:How can you ever make me angry when you're the sweetest and most caring jester i've ever known.

Jake caressed Tom's cheek with one hand, looking at him with such love in his dark eyes, Tom couldn't help but blush furiously as he melted into Jake's delicate touch.
However when Jake started to feel that side of him coming back he let go of Tom's face and looked away, Tom was confused and concerned because Jake's face was extremely red.

Tom:Jake are you okay!?

Jake:I am it's just uhm.

Tom:Jake?

Now it was Tom gently caressing Jake's cheek and turned his head in order for them to make eye contact, Jake was in pure shock, he wanted to push Tom's hand away but he didn't want this to stop either.

Tom:Please tell me is there something i've done to upset you.

Jake:I already told you of course not!

Tom:Then why do you keep avoiding me?

Jake:I'm scared!

Yelled Jake in a state of panic, Tom was surprised by his reaction and his response, "He was scared? Of what? Was Jake scared of Tom?" all those thoughts kept running through Tom's head.

Jake:I'm scared of my feelings.

Tom:Your feelings?

Jake was hesitant, however he couldn't run away from this situation and he had already come so far, it was better if he cleared the air in order for them to be on good terms.

Jake:I'm saying i like you, and not in a way friends do.

Tom was quiet, he tried to understand what Jake meant until he realized, behind his mask his whole face turned a deep teal color.

Jake:However, i'm afraid of liking you in that way, i've been in numerous relationships before and every time my heart got stabbed again and again, and that part of me is the one thing i'll forever despise.

Tom realized what Jake meant, the day when him and Gabby joined the circus, Tom had seen Jake pull out his heart during his performance, he had seen how bruised and cut it was.. And how big it is.
Tom sighed and held both of Jake's hands, looking at him with the same amount of love and admiration as who he hoped would be his soulmate.

Tom:Then i shall be the one who will actually love and cherish you for the rest of eternity.

Jake:That's what you all say before crushing my heart each time, you're a fool if you think i'll fall for that lie again Tom.

Tom:Then i will give you my own.

Jake:What..

Tom:I give you my heart Jake.

Tom pulled Jake's hands close to where his lips were and hesitantly lifted his mask up just enough for his lips to be uncovered, he kisses Jake's hands with all his love in it, showing just how much he meant to him.
Jake looked at Tom in disbelief, he didn't think he would ever feel the sensation of the jester's lips on his hand.

Tom:I like you too Jake.

Jake didn't know how to express himself, he didn't know what he was feeling, was it happiness? fear? sadness? Jake couldn't even tell if this is what actual love feels like, the only form of love Jake had ever felt since he was alive was lust, so he was very new to this, but Jake didn't hate it, maybe for once in this stupid afterlife he can finally feel what actual love is like.
Tom was also new to this whole love thing, he had never been in love before but if this is what it really is then he won't go against it.
The two remained silent, they were so lost in the lovely presence of each other, slowly the two began to move closer, about to lean in for a kiss. But two people had to walk by, interrupting the perfect moment.

Gabby:Guys! What are you two doing??

Tom instantly pulled his mask down, the two realized it was Gabby and Ellie, why were they here?

Tom:Gabby! Ellie! Uh why are you two here?

Gabby:We were looking for you two, the bonfire party will start soon.

Tom:Right, i really don't feel like going tonight, i'm pretty tired.

Jake:Me too, today i also had a busy day and i am very tired.

Ellie:Sure, having to carry two boxes full of gunpowder is too tiring for his highness.

Jake glared at Ellie and rolled his eyes at her.

Gabby:However it's fine if you two don't want to join in i guess, me and Ellie will get going now, hope you get some rest!

Ellie:Also apologies for whatever gay moments you two were having.

The two girls left, leaving Tom and Jake alone again, the two looked at each other, awkwardness filling the area.

Tom:So uhm, you know maybe we can always uh.

.
Tom stammered, he was scared of saying the wrong thing, especially after telling Jake how he felt about him.
Jake on the other hand, leaned in and kissed him, although it was only on the mask, Tom was now silent, his whole face turned into a deep teal color again, meanwhile Jake smiled at Tom.

Jake:I'll get going now, i love you, bye!

And so Jake left, leaving Tom there, about to explode.

Gabby walked back into the room her and Tom shared, she saw Tom in bed already fast asleep, she walks away and gets into her pjs and walks back to their beds.
When she takes off her mask Gabby notices something that wasn't on Tom's mask before, blue lipstick? She was confused until she realized and gasped excitedly.
