I looked up at him " why did u stay why did u help me you dont even know me you fought a random guy for me-" I said thru sniffles

"Shut up." He cut me off "any sane human would have done what I did. And the little I got to know you u seem a wonderful soul to let get hurt" he said genuinely. That made me a little stronger than before
I controlled myself and started to get up. Matt helped me up

" You okay?" He asked

"yes"

"you sure? You're a bit wobbly-" he said in a serious tone.

I smiled a little at him and then said " I'm fine".

He smiled back at me.
" I dont think I'm ready to drive yet-" I told him honestly.

" No shit babe. I'm driving where's your car gimme the keys" he said sternly.
I obeyed because he definitely knew what he was doing and I didn't so it was better to let him parent me right now because I'm definitely not responsible drunk. Who ever is responsible when drunk.

I went to my car and unlocked it and stood beside it, while matt went to bring my sister from against the wall of the bar where he kept her "safe". He spotted me and came over to me while I looking at phone about to call my mom to tell her what happened.

Matt came over and I opened the back seat door for him to put my sister there.
I made my way to the front seat while matt sat at the drivers seat. I gave him my address on his phone because I didnt trust myself to tell him the directions so why not make use of technology.
The incident really made me loose hope in myself to some extent.

Matt noticed my furrowed eyebrows and asked me while driving "you okay?"

"huh- yeah, yeah I'm fine just a little disturbed" I told him honestly.

"hey, look- its pretty normal for you to be disturbed right now but you have to understand that you're safe now, no one can hurt you right in this moment. I get where you're coming from- it was traumatizing for me too, I pulled that guy off of you but like you're strong right. If you dont believe in yourself just know I do. Now I might be a total stranger right now but trust me your a lot stronger than this how you are right now I know you are" he looked at me.

His eyes glistened at the reflection of the city lights at night making them look prettier than ever, he turned his face to the road but I kept looking at him not caring if I was staring at him or that it was very much obvious. He was really good looking, the focused look in his face made me think of how goofy yet adorable he looked when he laughs and when he smiled how his green eyes sparkle when he knows he made a good joke- " you're staring you know" Matt says looking at me briefly.

I try to play off cool by saying "I genuinely wanna thank you, that made me feel a lot better, like matt thanks for everything you did and that you're doing for a stranger who just came to your show and talked for like 4 mins, legit matt thank you so much." I realized half way through me pretending- I meant what I said.

He just looked at me and smiled. God- His smile-

I turned away towards the window to hide my heated cheek from his notice.

Soon after we reached my building. Matt parked the car and carried my sister to my apartment.
I unlocked it and he put her down on the sofa. I quickly offered him a glass of water as a small gesture of thanks.

He looked around my living room whilst I was searching for a blanket to prevent my sister from catching any further cold.

He put down the glass on the counter with a thud and I looked at him, and said "Matt thanks again I really do not know how to repay what you did for me in like the span of three hours, you saved my life I dont know how to thank you enough-"

"man you talk a lot-" he said cutting me off again.

"I was thanking you" I looked at him confused

"but you've been saying this all this timee, look I did what anyone would have maybe not drive you back home but still I wanted to help you" he said smiling trying to lighten the atmosphere.

"how are you getting back home?" I asked him

"already getting me out of the house damn all these hoes for real" he said shaking his head

"what no- I- Mattttt" I whined " you know I did not mean that" I said pretending to be sad just to make him feel bad.

he laughed and said " I knoww I'm kidding-, but uh ill book a cab from here" he answered

"oh" I just said

He looked around at the room, there was this painting of me and my old cat Blue. I named him after my favorite color which caught his attention "awwww whos this cutie" he cooed. "oh that's blue and me" I said smiling knowing its an adorable picture.
"you have a cat?" he questioned

"I did. He's gone now" I said a little upset, he was the bestest boy ever to come in my life.

"oh, I'm sorry" he said apologetically

"no dont worry he's in a better place right now he was the best" I said smiling

Matt got a notification on his phone indicating that his cabs here. He looked thru his phone I didnt even notice him book a cab damn sneaky.

"is your cab here?" I questioned "mhm yes its gonna take 3 more mins or that's what's its showing" he replied

"anyways I should go down then be there" he suggested I just nodded. I walked him to the door and for the last time I said "Matt thanks again but is there any way I can repay you?" I looked at him.

"hmmm since you're wanting to pay me back for helping you, umm buy me dinner on Thursday" he said grinning like he has accomplished something.
