A Deal's a Deal

After the tense car ride back, you and Dean entered the motel room to find Sam healing a man on the couch.

On seeing you, the man whistled. You immediately bristled and scowled at him when he spoke. "I spy with my little eye someone who shouldn't be here." He tilts his head with a smirk as Sam and Dean looked at each other with an uneasy glance.

"Yeah? And who are you?"

"Y/n, this is," Sam gestures slightly, standing up. "Gabriel. The archangel."

Yes, you thought as your heart raced. You could finally go back home. You guys could collect his grace and open a portal back home.

"Y/n, you don't remember me, darling?" Gabriel taunts, eyes studying the immediate confusion on your face.

"Am I supposed to?" You keep your eyes trained on him, brows furrowed in confusion as a look of understanding finally falls over the archangel's face.

"Hey, look-" Dean tries to interject but Gabriel interrupts.

"Ho ho ho," he huffs out. "You're not from here," he tilts his head. "You're not from this world." He looks to Sam in disbelief and then sharply turns to Dean, mirth and severity masking his face. "You really did it, huh? Lost her in this world so got her back from another?" He guffaws and shakes his head and you turn to gauge the brothers' expressions. Sam was looking down, jaw flexed while Dean's was gritted shut.

"How did you know we were here?" Dean snaps, folding his arms over his chest. You note the deflection and file it to the back of your mind- yet another reason to stay wary of the Winchester brothers. They were definitely hiding something. And a creeping suspicion that Dean and other you were involved crept into your mind.

Gabriel takes the bait. "Felt your witch's tracking spell the second she put it on me. Tasted like ass."

"So, now you're in trouble?" Sam asks.

"What gave you that idea?"

"You showed up on our doorstep, looking like a stuffed pig," Dean adds, walking to the door and looking outside the peephole. You find yourself slightly amused at the situation. Gabriel catches your expression and raises his eyebrow.

"What?"

"It's just that. You," you gesture to his bloodied shirt where his wound was and then his overall slumped form on the couch, "are an archangel. One of the top four. But you're so...powerless." Your words turn sharp towards the end as a small amount of dark satisfaction courses through your body. "Look at you."

Sam glances between the two of you. "Y/n-"

Gabriel's eyes flash as he sits up straighter, his face crinkling slightly in pain. "Don't be fooled. My wrath is enough to wipe out whole nations." He smirks slightly. "Besides, I'd be nicer if I was you. You're the one who needs me."

"How do you know that?"

"Hello?" He drags the 'o' out. "Tracking spell. I'm assuming you dimwits need my help in something."

"We could just be hunting you down," you shoot back, not allowing the angel to outsmart you.

He shrugs, and you have a feeling that he's letting you win this fight. Like he doesn't have the energy or need to prove a point right now. "Could be." He stares at you with a slightly challenging look.

Huh. He's wounded. Your brows knot in confusion as you take him in again. The vessel's skin is pasty and sweaty and his white shirt is soaked with so much blood to the point it's black. Angels don't get wounded. But he is an angel. Sam and Dean confirmed so... Then that only meant one other thing. Your heart sinks.
