Beginning of the end

You're walking in the hallway, sighing after taking a hot water shower. You would never get used to them after going ten years without.

It had been about a week since your return back to the alternate universe. The day after coming, you'd spoken to Rowena about the memory thing and it took her five days to search for a spell, collect the ingredients and make the potion. It was meant to protect the mind- basically create a shield to protect it from outside forces. It was a powerful bit of magic and Rowena assured that it wouldn't have side effects.

It was a pearlescent-coloured liquid, shining as you poured it into the coffee pot in the Winchesters' kitchen- eyeing as everyone drank the coffee from their mugs. You told Charlie and Bobby about the memories- the latter suggested keeping it hidden from the others. You understood why. Everyone was...happy. Quickly getting used to this new world. Charlie was planning a road trip with Rowena to search for solutions to the angel problem in your world in extensive magical libraries scattered across the country. Agatha left the bunker every day- going to the mall, watching movies. You were happy that they were happy. You just hoped they didn't make the same mistake as you and get too attached to this world.

Deep in your thoughts, you don't notice one door open in the hallway.

Someone jumps in front of you wearing a clown mask and you shout, almost falling back. A hand quickly darts out to grab you and you hear a familiar voice talking.

"No! No, why?" You yell at Dean as he pulls the mask off, barely restricting his grin as he sees your expression. You try slowing your racing heart, glaring at the Winchester as you step back.

"Did you get a memory?"

"No?" You gasp, indignantly.

"Good, that means Rowena's potion is working. There was a case where we were dealing with killer clowns. Actually, we dealt with killer clowns twice," Dean frowns, tilting his head. "Weird. Anyways, one of them jumped scared Y/n so bad she sobbed. I thought I would see if you-"

"Fuck you, Winchester," you gasp, shaking your head and resting your hands on your knees. "I hate clowns. Hate them."

"Well," Dean laughs, and it's clear and bright. Everyone's been feeling lighter with the absence of impending doom. "Now that we know you're not gonna get a random ass vision outside, we have a field trip to make."

"A field trip?" You sigh, standing up straight and eyeing him with disdain.

"I wasn't lying about teaching your ass."

The red neon sign is the first thing that catches your eyes as you walk into the store, the bell tingling lightly overhead. Your eyes wander as you see the vinyl stacked according to genre, year, and artist in multiple shelves that run across the length of the room. On one side, there were old record players, some with brass classy-looking gramophones. Under the neon sign is a hanging electric guitar, with a signature on the body. Towards the other side is a small built-in glass booth. A listening booth, you guessed.

"Take it all in," Dean says in a proud voice from beside you and you belatedly realise that your jaw had fallen open. "Biggest record store in Lebanon."

"This is," you gasp, taking a step forward and fingering through the pieces of vinyl on the nearest shelf. "Taylor Swift," you read, looking at the black and white cover.

"Oh, nuh-uh," Dean moves towards you, shaking his hand. "That's not- we don't start there." He sputters.

You look up at him and follow him as he walks towards the end. To the 80's rock section. "Okay, the 80's. U2, Bon Jovi. The classic Don't stop believin' by Journey," Dean nods, flicking through the vinyl. You smile in amusement as he speaks. "Look at this," he beckons you closer. You step forward as he pulls the covers out a bit before putting them back in. "Bella donna -Stevie Nicks, Working Class Dog -Rick Springfield, y'know- Jessie's girl," Dean sings lowly in his deep voice and you let out a small laugh, watching his long fingers continue working. "Aha!" He pulls a black vinyl cover out. "Back in Black, AC/DC. Classic."
