Kamen Rider Deku (Rewrite)

Mission 18: Conclusions

Deku involuntarily tenses as his mind instinctively flashes back to their fight at the docks when he sees Giran's floating form. On the other hand, Giran stares down at Deku while talking casually to the teen, as if he didn't injure Giran in one of their last meetings.

"It looks like you've gotten a bit stronger since the last time we saw each other. That's pretty impressive. Your fighting style is still pretty crude and aggressive, though. You should really work on that. You'd be surprised how much a bit of refinement helps in the long run." Giran says as he retracts the Proto Driver and puts it behind his back.

Hearing his words causes Deku to snap out of his shock and fear-induced trance and immediately jump off the ground to gain some distance between him and Giran.

"Easy, kid. I'm not here to fight you. There's no need to do that now. I'm just here for a quick pick up and return." Giran says while showing the Proto Driver again.

"I needed to pick up our little toy here. It's more important to us right now than yours." Giran tells him while having another tentacle motion toward Deku's Hero Driver.

Deku immediately glances down at the Hero Driver before realizing what he did and quickly returns his attention to Giran.

"Then again, it's not like I was trying to grab your Drivers, anyway. If I was, I would have taken them during our fight at the docks." Giran continues.

"What are you talking about? They were after our Drivers? Are you saying you're not working with him and Slidin' Go?" Deku asks him in confusion, deciding that talking to Giran would be for the best if he's not going to get attacked.

"Oh no, I'm working with them. However, my job is more of cleaning up. Like so." Giran motions as he picks Ikusaba up with one of his other tentacles, causing Deku to panic and charge at him.

However, Giran lifts him in the air with his telekinesis before throwing the Kamen Rider to the side but not off the roof.

"Easy there, kid. I'm not going to do anything to this guy. We still need him to learn a few things. He's an important resource." Giran explains before a portal opens behind him, and he throws Ikusaba and the Proto Driver into it.

However, he didn't try to go into the portal himself. Instead, he remains in the same place and continues talking to the Kamen Rider a little more.

"Now that that's taken care of, why don't we continue our conversation? I still have a few minutes before I should leave." Giran tells him, causing Deku to look up at him in confusion.

"Why are you doing this?" Deku asks cautiously.

"Because I'm interested in you, kid. You and those two keep taking down our Nomu, and the device you use is interesting. I thought I'd reward you for all your accomplishments by answering some questions. Besides, I'm growing bored that our organization keeps playing on a no-one-should-know basis. This should spice things up a bit." Giran states with a smile that Deku can't see.

"You mean the Meta Liberation Army?" Deku asks curiously, somewhat dropping his guard when he hears this.

He was planning to lead Deku toward that conclusion. He didn't expect them to suspect it already.

"Well, that's surprising. How did you figure us out already?" Giran skillfully goes along with it, preventing Deku from realizing he is surprised at this news.

"Your members kept calling their Quirks Meta Abilities instead. Also, I heard a couple of them say something about an army." Deku states.

"Well, this will make my job all the easier. Master said it's time to start setting Tomura up for his debut." Giran mentally notes.
