the vision for this one

Y/N'S POV

Jon, my husband, was nowhere to be found when I woke up this morning. I woke up to an empty bed, but when I made my way to the kitchen to start up breakfast for our toddler before she woke up, I saw he left a note on the counter for me.

Gone for a trim at the barber's. See you soon.

             Love, Jon

Jon has been telling me how his hair has been bugging him lately. It's been getting pretty long, so I'm not surprised that he's gone for a trim.

I hear a door creak open and see our daughter, Grace, come out of her bedroom. Her little feet stomp against the floor as she greets me with a smile on her face. She comes over and wraps her arms around my leg as her way of giving me a hug.

"Hello, sweetie." I smile down at her as I rub her head. "My goodness, you have crazy morning hair."

She looks up at me with her big eyes, letting go of my leg. "Just like daddy." Grace speaks.

I chuckled at her comment. Taking Grace in my arms, I sit her down at the dinner table. "What do you want for breakfast?"

"Toast," she says while cuddling with her blanky.

"With jam?" I ask as I take the bread out of the cupboard. She simply nods.

I pop a slice of bread in the toaster. While I wait for it to pop, I take out a few strawberries from the fridge to give Grace with her breakfast. She talks to me about a dream she had before she woke up as I cut the strawberries in half.

I spread the jam on her toast and plate it up before giving it to her. I sit down in front of her as she tells me random things toddlers tell people, basically anything that's on her mind.

Grace's story gets cut short when we hear the front door open and quickly close. "I'm home." Jon's voice echoes through the house.

"Daddy's here, Grace." I tell her. She jumps off her chair, and her little legs run towards the entry. But she quickly turns around and comes back running to me, crying. "That's not daddy!" She cries out.

What?

"Grace, honey, it is him. I heard his voice." I rub her back. Jon walks in the kitchen, and the sound of his footstep draws my attention towards him. I see that he has done more than a trim; he's cut most of his head of hair off!

I gasp. My hand swings up to my mouth in shock. "You said just a trim."

Jon smiles at me and runs his hand through his hair. "Do you like it?"

I take Grace in my arms and go over to Jon. Her crying clamed down a bit since she recognized his voice, but a few tears are still falling down. I examine his newly cut hair from up close, and the more I look at it, the more I like it.

"It's surely not what I expected to see on you when you got home." I say. "But yes, it does look nice, babe."

He leans over and gives me a quick peck on the lips before carefully taking Grace out of my arms. He bounces her around in his arms, and I look at the both of them with a huge smile on my face.

"Grace," I say to her in a baby voice. "Do you like daddy's new hair?"

Her crying finally stopped. She looks up at her father and looks back down, shaking her head. "No." She simply says.

"What!" Jon fakes being shocked, and it makes her laugh. "Gracie, you are in big trouble, young lady." He tickles her stomach, causing her to laugh even more.

He puts the toddler down, and she runs off to the living room to play with her toys. I watch her run off before turning my attention back to Jon.

"Can you believe it?" He asks me while pulling me closer to him by tugging at the band of my pants. "My own toddler doesn't even like my hair." Jon shakes his head in disbelief.

"She'll get used to it eventually." I chuckle.

"At least you like it." He says. Jon presses his forehead to against, our lips almost touching.

"It looks really good on you." I grin.

"I knew you'd like it." He smirks. Jon grabs my ass, causing me to squeal. To shut me up, he presses his lips to mine. I feel him smile against me as we kiss.

"Ewwwwww!" We hear Grace exclaim. I break from Jon's embrace and turn to see our daughter standing there with a disgusted look on her face.

"Aren't you supposed to be playing with your toys?" Jon pretends to be mad at her. She smiles and runs off to the living room once again.

"Come back here, you! I'm gonna catch you, Gracie." Jon says it playfully. He runs off for her and grabs her in his arms, tickling and throwing her up in the air until her laughter fills the house.
