Y/N'S POV

The day I found out I was pregnant was certainly one of the best days of my life. I remember the pure joy I saw in my husband's eyes when I told him that we were expecting a child. Nikki was extremely nervous, but yet so excited to become a father.

He didn't have much of a father figure in his life, so he was determined to be the absolute best father to our baby. Though I was aware of his fear of being a bad parent, I knew Nikki would be the most gentle and caring father out there.

I'm currently 5 months pregnant, and I can't say every day goes by with ease. At the very beginning, I had a lot of morning sickness, which caused Nikki to worry a lot about me, but I kept reassuring him that this was normal.

Thankfully, I don't get as sick anymore, which has allowed me to do more things around the house. Out of excitement, Nikki insisted that we start working on the nursery for the baby. We didn't know the gender of the baby since we decided to keep it a surprise, so we went with a light gray for the paint and a pastel yellow as an accent wall.

"Nikki!" I call out as I round the corner in the hallway. "I made more coffee if you want some." I carefully creep my head into the baby's room to find Nikki painting.

He looks over his shoulder at me before carefully resting the paint brush against the can of paint. "I'd take another cup, yeah." Nikki comes over to me and crouches down to my stomach. "We're doing all this for you." He smiles. "But we already love you, even if we've never met you."

"The baby isn't even here yet, and you already care for them. You'll be an amazing dad, Nik." I tell him after he straightens himself up. I get on the tips of my toes and kiss him, smiling against his lips.

"You probably shouldn't stand in this room too long; the smell of the wet paint can't be the best to breathe when you're pregnant." Nikki says. He puts his arm around my shoulder and pulls us out of the nursery.

We head down to the kitchen, and I pour Nikki a second cup of coffee, like he had requested earlier. "Still not able to drink coffee?" He chuckles before bringing the cup to his lips.

"I don't know why it makes me so nauseous to drink it every since I've been pregnant. Smelling it is fine, but I just don't stomach it well when I try to drink it." I shake my head.

Nikki simply chuckles at my action.

"I washed all the sheets we got for the baby's crib and the stuffed animals too." I change the subject and glance over at the dining room table, where I folded everything neatly, waiting to place it in the crib once it gets built.

"I called Tommy earlier, and he said he'd stop by sometime today to build the crib and help put shelves in the room." Nikki tells me.

I smile. "Tommy? Tommy is gonna build a crib?"

"What?" Nikki beams. "He's not all that dumb. I'll double check after to make sure the screws are tight enough so the bed stays intact."

"Please do." I laugh. "I'll keep a close eye on you two so you don't mess anything up."

"Hey, I did all the painting by myself." He puts his hands up in a playful manner to defend himself. "I think I did a decent job."

"You did a great job, Nik." I smile. He gets up from his stool and kisses me softly. Just as things start getting heavier, Tommy barges in without a knock.

"Hey gu- woah!" He covers his eyes. "Please, I don't need a demonstration on how you guys created a kid. I already know all of that." Tommy teases.

"Maybe knock next time, man." Nikki shrugs. "I'm sure that would avoid you seeing lots of things you aren't supposed to see."

"I'm used to it by now." He says so and joins Nikki and me in the kitchen. My husband and I exchange a look and chuckle at Tommy's comment.

"Look what I got for your baby, man. They're gonna look so cool." He smiles brightly and hands Nikki and me a box.

"Is it bad to say I'm scared to open it?" I grimace.

"It's cool. You'll see." Tommy fidgets out of excitement. Nikki opens the box and pulls out a little black onesie that says "My uncle is the best drummer" on it.

"I already know that's gonna be the baby's favorite shirt." Tommy chuckles.

"We'll add that to our collection of baby clothes." I smile. "Thanks Tommy." I give him a hug.

"Now... Nikki told me you'd be the one assembling the crib?" I question the drummer.

"Of course." He smiles. "It should be easy."

"Please make sure all the screws are tight. I don't need the baby falling out of its crib." I tell him worriedly.

"Don't stress out, babe." Nikki kisses my cheek. "I'll keep an eye on him."

"Alright guys, I'm not that dumb!" Tommy chuckles.
