𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗨𝗡 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗟𝗬 𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗨𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗 our surroundings as I slowly realized I was cuddling with Luke. His arm encircled me like a protective barrier, shielding me from the world's troubles. Blinking awake, I caught Clarisse's amused grin.
"Why the smirk?" I whispered, mindful not to awake Luke.
"You two look pretty cute together." Clarisse whispered back.
"I thought you couldn't stand us." I murmured.
"Normally, I can't, but seeing you both like this... it's kinda sweet." Clarisse confessed.
"Your idea of sweet is unique." I teased softly.
"Keep it down or I'll wake your loverboy with a scream." Clarisse threatened in jest.
"Don't you dare." I responded, a grin breaking through.
"So, you're quite in love with him, huh?" Clarisse asked.
"Is it wrong to say yes?" I asked
"Why would it be?" Clarisse countered, feeling intrigued.
"Well, we've only known each other for such a short time. I don't want to rush him into something he might not want." I whispered, uncertainty clouding my tone.
"Kathy, you do realize that love at first sight is a thing, right?" Clarisse said
"But what if he doesn't feel the same? What if his flirtation was just playful banter between friends?" I questioned, my insecurities bubbling to the surface.
"You're truly so blind." Clarisse sighed, a mix of frustration and concern evident in her voice.
"Oh, just stop." I snapped back, a twinge of defensiveness coloring my words.
