Career Week

---Annabelle POV---
When I walked into my first hour and sat down he went to the front of the class and told us about career week. Since we are in 8th grade, they want us to decide what we want to do for a job

"Tomorrow you will pick out classes for 9th grade during your math class, all of your parents are aware and have been told to come, after that depending on your other classes, you might have some presentations by people in different career fields"

Well crap, why did they have to invite parents, this is gonna be miserable I already know that she's going to humiliate me and be awful about it. And my crush is in that class with me too.

I went home praying my mom didn't find out, but she did. And she asked me if I was going to take seminary, I said no I don't think so and she got super upset. It's not that I don't believe in God, I do but I thunk the church she makes us go too doesn't interpret the Bible the way I do. I still go to church and everything, but I'd just rather do my own studying and not have it influenced by other people ya know? She said I have to take it but i really don't want too and I'm not going to spend 2 hours of my school day doing stuff I don't have any desire to do

---The next day---
"All parents here for class selection please make your way to the library" They said over the announcements

That's when I saw her, I was standing with my friend Sawyer, no I don't like him like that, besides I have a crush already

"Shit, I'll talk to you later Sawyer"
"What why, we don't have to go to class yet" he asked

"Promise I'll explain later" I said walking off to go try and find one of the few girls I get along with in this school

"Anna!" My mom yelled across the schools main Foyer where EVERYONE was standing waiting to be released to class

I turned and walked over to her

"Hey, mom I think they want the parents in the library"

"Hmm ok, then I'll see you in a minute"

I talked to Tiffany and then the bell rang and I went into the library, I went and sat down with Tiffany

I was under the impression that the parents were supposed to sit at a separate table since that's what my teacher had told us yesterday, but apparently it changed

The counselors went up and did their while spiel about what classes to take and things like that, then we were told to talk to our parent and decide

"Ok, I think I'd like to do honors math again, and honors science next year, is that ok?" I asked

"I'm just leaving" she said angrily

"What why?" I asked not mad that she was leaving but I know there's going to be a punishment waiting for me at home if I don't fix this

"Because you clearly don't want me here"

"I do want you here, come on let's pick out my elective classes"

We talked and I wrote down all of the ones we had decided on including Spanish, graphic design, art 2, biology, and then she brought up seminary

"Mom I don't really want to take seminary, plus I already have all my slots filled"

"You will take seminary, your attitude sucks and your a selfish spoiled little bitch, mabye they can beat it out of you"

"Ok mom, I honestly have no idea what that's supposed to mean, but no I'm not taking any more classes I don't want to take because you want me too"

Then the bell rang thank God saved by the bell

"Hey mom I've got to go or I'll be late to my next class, but we can finish this at home"

I walked in and dropped my bag

"Anna what happened earlier in the foyer why were you acting like you couldn't be seen with me, did something happen"

"Ugh, sorry no, my mom was just walking in and she's kinda crazy and last time she saw me talking to a boy she completely lost it, and I just didn't want a repeat"

"Oh ok gotcha" he said laughing

"I'd be dead if my mom was anything like yours" he laughed

"LOL ya, well if I don't finish this project In time there's a good chance I'll be dead by the end of the week" I said

We talked back and forth messing with each other while working on our assignment

"BBRRRRIIINGG"

"Ugh, why can't we just stay here"

"We could just skip" he said

Then we said at the same time

"Ugh I can't my mom would kill me"

"I hate you" I said laughing as we went our separate ways to go to class
