Curtain Call

Chapter 8

Kayla pov

    I was walking through the halls. There was an erie silence to it. The only sound was coming from the auditorium filled with people laughing and talking. I kept trying to call Tina but it kept going to voicemail. I decided to check to bathroom, I walked inside and I was met with an awful smell.

"Ew... what is that?"

I asked myself. I looked around and started checking the stalls. As I opened the last stall I screamed as I saw Clara's dead body laying on the ground. I ran out and I was met with a guy wearing all black holding a bloody knife. He was wearing a mask I couldn't see him face. We stared at each other for a moment and then he grabbed me and instantly stabbed me. I tried screaming but he covered my mouth, I was unable to make any sound. As I stopped struggling he layed me down on the ground. Last thing I saw was the man's shadow standing over me. Then it all went black.

Liz pov

    I sighed as I checked my phone and saw  no notifications. I was still sitting with Jenna and Leo. I looked around pissed off that no one was really concerned about the missing people.

Do they even care?

I thought. I saw Ophelia walk over.

"Hey Liz, Can you take over for Albert? You know his part better than anyone."

She gave me a sweet pitiful smile. I was annoyed hearing her say this.

"Do you even care?"

I let my anger slip out. I stood up and faced towards her.

"Do you even realize the seriousness of this situation? PEOPLE ARE GOING MISSING. THEY COULD HE DEAD FOR ALL WE KNOW."

I raised my voice, the auditorium went silent and I could tell everyone was looking at me. Jenna stood up and tried to hold me back.

"We don't know what's going on, we keep sending people but-"

She started to speak but I cut her off.

"Well maybe you should send more than one person. Maybe Mr Lunie should get off his ass and actually give a shit for once!"

I screamed.

"Liz calm down.."

Jenna said.

"No. I will NOT calm down. I won't calm down until we actually do something about this."

I demanded.

"Liz! This is completely unacceptable behavior."

Mr Lunie walked over to confront the situation.

"Oh so now IM the problem? Have you even noticed students going missing? People that are SUPPOSED to be YOUR responsibility. I hope you know that if they did die you would be responsible."

I yelled.

"Do we need to go outside and talk? You are freaking everyone out."

He said.

"I'm glad that I am. People are finally realizing what the fuck is going on!"

I said.

"Okay, let's go."

Mr Lunie dragged me out. Jenna tried to follow but he wouldn't let her. He brought me out into the hallway and stopped next to the door, out of sight.

"What's going on?"

He sighed.

"What's going on?! I just explained to you what's going on."

I crossed my arms and turned away from him.

"Is something going on at home? Are you on your period??"

He put his hand on my shoulder.

"Are you SERIOUS? Did you really just ask that? PEOPLE COULD BE DEAD."

I screamed.

"You don't know that."

He said.

"Well where else would they be? WHY WOULD THEY JUST DISAPPEAR! I mean seriously, Leo wouldn't have had that dream for no reason!"

I said.

"Dream? What dream?"

He asked.

"Leo had a dream that there was a killer in the school."

I explained.

"So this is what this is all about?"

He chuckled.

"Come on, it's just a dream. You're getting everyone worked up for nothing. Let's go back."

He lead me back inside and I was NOT happy.

"UGH!"

I stomped back to Jenna.

"He is now my LEAST favorite teacher!"

I yelled. I threw myself down on the chair.

"What happened?"

Jenna asked.

"I told him exactly what I said out here AND THIS BITCH ASKED IF I WAS ON MY PERIOD! He said it was just a dream and I shouldn't be concerned about it."

I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes. I could tell Jenna was holding back laughter, that just made me more annoyed.

"You know what?"

I stood up.

"I'm going to go find them, to prove to everyone that I'm not crazy!"

I started to walk towards the doors but Jenna stopped me.

"You can't just go by yourself."

She said.

"Then what do you expect me to do?"

I asked.

"At least let me come with you."

She smiled.

"No! You can't."

Leo stood in our way.

"Leo we'll be fine."

Jenna said.

"Jenna, I saw you die right in front of me. No way am I going to let that happen in real life."

He stated.

"You think I can't fend for myself? No way am I going to let no killer get me."

She rolled her eyes.

"Fine, but let me come with you."

He reasoned. Jenna looked at me and we agreed to let him come. Mr Lunie walked over overhearing our plan.

"Find you guys can try to find them, the only reason I'm letting you go is because we don't need you girls in act 2."

He said. We smiled glad that he wasn't trying to stop us.

"Thanks, we'll be back!"

I opened the door and we were out.
