14 The Warning

The weeks past like this. Short conversations with the boys and the teachers watching my every move. One day I flubbed up and used magic in class.

I was sitting at my desk, taking a test and I dropped my pencil. Then I used magic to bring it back to my hand because if the teachers saw me bending down to pick it up I would have lost points on the test. That was the worst thing I could have done. I didn't even do it consciously. It was an automatic response on my part. I spent the rest of the test kicking myself because of what I did.

Later that day I found the boys in the library and they were not happy.

How could they have figured out what I did so quickly? And without anyone else knowing? They are not even in the same classes as I am.

"I'm sorry! Ok? I didn't mean to mess up and use magic in class!"

"What?" Ash hissed, "You used magic in class?"

"I...uh...I...yes," I squeaked.

"That was not what we were going to tell you, but it kind of makes sense now."

"Huh?"

"What I'm saying is that you doing magic in class kind of explains why Mrs. Boss was interrogating Lillia!"

"The Boss was interrogating Lillia? Really?"

Yeah. I saw Mrs. Boss coming out of her office with Lillia and she was saying thank you to her. I think she was thanking Lillia for answering her questions and she had a triumphant smile on her face. Both of them did."

Before I could answer Raphaela, a girl that I saved from Lillia's wrath a few years ago, came up to us. She was out of breath and it seemed that she was really scared about something.

"Hey Raphaela, what-"

"No. I need...to tell...something," she panted.

"What?" I asked confused at the urgency of her voice.

She finally caught her breath, "Mrs. Boss has given permission to Lillia and Rex to drag you into the forest tonight when you're sleeping."

"What?" I yelped.

"Are you sure?" Ash asked tensely.

"Yes. I was there in the bushes when she told them."

"Wait," I said, "Why were you in the bushes in front of Mrs. Boss's office?"

She turned scarlet, "I, uh, I was..."

"Yes?"

"I was kissing Gerrard."

I laughed, "That is nothing to be embarrassed about. Well thank you for your warning, Raphaela."

"What are you going to do? No one comes back from the forest."

"We'll figure it out, but while we are doing that spread the word to everyone you can without being detected and tell them to do it to.We'll see what our classmates think about what Mrs. Boss Ok'd."

"Ok" was all she said and then she ran off to spread the news.

"What are we going to do? What are we going to do? What are we-"

"Hush Gerry. I was expecting this since the teachers started to watch me."

"You did?"

"Yes and I know what we need to do."
