That night I didn't go to bed normally and I didn't sleep. I never changed into pajamas and I didn't brush my teeth. I was on edge waiting for Ash's signal.
I tried to sleep, but I just laid there, a hundred things going through my mind. Five minutes past, ten, soon an hour past. I was still lying there. I think I dozed off for a little while because Ash's signal startled me awake.
I tensed up waiting to spring. Suddenly the door to my treehouse opened. The creak by itself would have woken me up. Then two shadows crept in. One was big and bulky, Rex, and one was shorter and a little thinner, Lillia. I made myself relax and faked sleep.
"Wow, she must be either really tired or really lazy," Rex whispered to Lillia.
Lillia replied, "I don't know, she may be faking. Let's be careful."
"Ok."
"Put the sleeping spell on her, Rex."
"Why do I have to do it?"
"Because I am in charge."
"What does that have to do with it?"
"Because I said so."
"Fine!"
"Do it!"
"Ok."
I felt the spell go over me. I hope Ash does the reversal curse. Then I knew only the blackness of sleep.
I slowly came to, careful not to move. Rex and Lillia were dragging me behind them. My back suddenly hit a rock and the pain cleared my mind. I need to send the signal.
I started to dig my heels into the dirt to slow us down and Rex reacted immediately.
"Hey, Lillia."
"Yes?"
"How come she's suddenly harder to drag?"
"Well now that you mention it, I think she is a little harder to drag."
I hit another rock and groaned softly. They stopped and looked around.
"Did you hear that?" Lillia asked Rex.
"What?"
"That soft groaning noise."
I started wiggling.
"Hey! She's waking up!"
I struggled to get free. They stood me up and Lillia had Rex hold me.
"What's happening? Lillia? You're not allowed to do this."
"Oh yes I am."
"No you're not." I insisted.
"Yes I am. Mrs. Boss told me to do this."
"Oh. So now you're her little henchmen that do her dirty work, right?"
"No," she growled.
"So...where are you taking me?"
She grinned at this.
"We are dumping you in the forest."
I feigned dismay, "What? You're going to leave me in the forest? At night?"
"Yes and I am happy to do it."
"Well I won't go."
"Yes you will because we will make you."
"But can you take down the whole school?"
"What?"
That was when I sent three beautiful fireworks into the night sky.
'What...' was all Lillia could say and Rex just stared mouth open.
"You wondered why I won our last fight. Well I kind of leveled the playing field. Every spell you cast I copied so neither of us had the advantage. And obviously the better fighter won. Now I will be going."
I extracted my arms from Rex's grasp. It was like they were both frozen.
"Oh, by the way, Rex," I waved my hand and took away the flimsy memory block that Ash had put on him, "Ash put a memory block on you."
Then I skipped away into the shadows to meet up with Ash and Gerry.
"You didn't have to be that dramatic."
I flushed, "Oh. You saw that?"
Ash grinned, "Yeah, I did."
"I, um, I...wanted to be dramatic?"
"Well you did a very good job about it."
"Yeah."
"Ok, now what are we going to do when they get over their shock?"
"We are going to wake up the whole Orphanage."
"How are we going to do that?"
I grinned mischievously, "With a little magic."

I'm having a lot of fun writing this book and I hope you're having fun reading it. Now Rex and Lillia know her secret. Do you think that's a good thing? Comment! Thx!- S
