Weeks passed, and Nova slowly adjusted to life in the Royal Capital. She landed a job near her apartment, and she couldn't help but think that she wouldn't have made it this far without her friend Morgen.
Now, she worked as a waitress at a resto-bar. Although she still couldn't remember her past, at least she had a decent job.
After finishing work, Nova navigated through the bustling marketplace, where various charms, potions, armor, and weapons were being sold on the busy night. Despite the crowded atmosphere, her mind wandered, consumed by her thoughts.
Suddenly, she felt a gentle tap on her shoulder.
Startled, she turned around to see Morgen standing there, a warm smile on his lips.
"Nova!" he exclaimed, his eyes brightening with recognition.
"It's you! I've been looking everywhere for you."
Nova's heart skipped a beat at the sight of him.
"Morgen? What are you doing here?" she asked, surprised and relieved.
"I heard you were in town," he explained, his smile widening. "I wanted to make sure you were okay.
Is everything all right?"
Touched by his concern, Nova felt a wave of gratitude wash over her.
"I've been struggling a little bit," she admitted softly.
"But seeing you here... it's like a ray of hope in the darkness."
Morgen reached out and gently took her hand.
"You're not alone, Nova," he said softly. "I'm here for you, whatever you need."
In that moment, Nova knew she had found a true friend in Morgen. As they stood together, the weight of her worries seemed to lift, replaced by a newfound sense of hope and companionship.
Nova couldn't help but notice the change in Morgen's light-blue eyes since their first meeting in the forest. They now radiated warmth and welcome, unlike before when they were shrouded in mystery and sadness.
Sometimes, Nova wondered why Morgen was different now. He never opened up about what troubled him during their conversations. She often wanted to ask him but ended up keeping her thoughts to herself.
"Are you okay?" Morgen asked her.
"Yes, of course, why wouldn't I be?" Nova responded, trying to reassure him.
"You seem a little dazed. Are you sure you're all right?" Morgen asked again, concern evident in his voice.
She nodded in response to his concern.
"The truth is, sometimes I wonder about my life before. I just... wonder," she confessed.
"I promise you, if I become a Magic Knight, that will be my first mission. I will help you remember your lost memory," he said earnestly, looking into her eyes.
"Do you really want to become a Magic Knight?" Nova asked him.
"Of course. Being a Magic Knight is a noble job. You help and protect people with your power," he replied.
"I think it really suits you to become one," Nova said, smiling at him.
"Thank you for supporting me," Morgen said with a smile.
Morgen walked with her to her apartment, making sure she was okay before waving goodbye.
As Nova continued walking to her apartment, she couldn't help but ask herself why Morgen didn't open up about his problems to her. He seemed troubled when they first met.
